Sticking up for family

"Dr Green Jason Ross is prepped and ready for you in the OR" I said
"Thank you Dr Grey but I won't be needing you in the OR I have Dr Chandler helping me" he replied
"Ok then I'll go see if Dr Shepherd needs help" I said annoyed I know I've done it a few times but this is 8 surgeries in a row that they have stole and I'm getting annoyed I know in the chief of neurosurgery but he's the chief of cardio and has been for a long time. I made my way to Derek's office he must have finished his surgery by now. When I got up there he was standing looking at a photo smiling.
I knocked on the door and he shouted for me to come in
"Hey sweetie how was your surgery" I asked
"It went really well" he replied placing the photo down and placing his hands on my hips
"Didn't you not have a surgery"
"Yea but Green is overpowering my decision again"
"Well why don't you join me for dinner later to make you feel better "he asked smiling
"Are you proposing that we go on a date chief Shepherd" I said throwing my arms around his neck
"Yes I am"
"Then yes" I said kissing him
We stayed in that position for another five minutes until I was paged 911 to conference room 1 by Dr Green
"I better go"
"I'll walk you down I need to do chiefly stuff anyway" he replied
"Your so amazing"
"I know" he grabbed my hand and we walked down and Green was pacing up and down so I entered
"Dr Green?"
"Dr Grey explain why I had to page Dr Matthews in during surgery because you couldn't be bothered answering the page" he yelled
"I never got paged"
"Dr Grey lying will get you no where we could go to the chief right now"
"Ok then I'll just call him now"
"Chief Shepherd" I called to him as he was standing at the nurses station"
"Here we go James you wanted the chief I got you the chief"
"What is it Dr Green"
"Well I had a patient who's brain started to swell and I paged Dr Grey several times but no answer so I paged Dr Matthews but Dr Grey now has the guts to tell me she never got the page" he shouted again
"Because she didn't"
"What?"
"I have been with her for the last hour and a half and she never got a page"
"Oh so is that how it works you start sleeping with the chief and he becomes your lacky"
"No I become her husband and it becomes sticking up for family" he said as we watched his face drop
"I'm guessing you didn't realise my lab coat and how it says Dr Meredith Shepherd and also your not my boss if you haven't heard I'm back as the chief of neurosurgery so we're on level playing fields" I said winking at him then walking out
"Don't pull that stunt ever again Green ok?" He asked as he nodded
"Good" Derek replied walking out to.
