I need him in my life

As I followed the intern to Derek's room I saw Callie looking into his window with tears streaming down her face. When I got in the door my heart dropped Derek Christopher Shepherd, the father of my children, my husband was lying attached to all these tubes and wires.
As I stood looking at him I could feel myself about to throw up the contents of my stomach so I ran out and towards the bathroom.
When I got into the bathroom I threw myself over the toilet and threw up. As I was doing so I felt hands hold my hair back.
"It's ok Mer let it out" Callie said but I had finished after she said that.
"Pregnancy?" She asked as I left the stall and headed towards the sink.
"No I finished months ago it's just seeing him like that and also the fact that we had an appointment to find out the gender of the baby I just need him alive, I need him in my kids life and mine" I said breaking down after washing my hands and Callie wrapped me in a hug.
"When's your appointment" she asked
"In 10 mins" I replied wiping my eyes.
"Ok come on I'll come with you" she said opening the door.
After the scan I went to Derek's room and sat next to his bed.
"Derek you can't give up I need you in my life in our kids life. I need you to watch Christopher's first soccer game with me so I don't get confused, I need you with me to see out baby born and I need you to walk our daughter down the aisle when she marry's so Derek you can't give up now we need you" I say before kissing his forehead before sitting back down next to him.
3 weeks later
"Dr Shepherd I know your in surgery but your husband has woke up and he's perfectly fine memories intact and he's even been up walking. We took him for a CT and everything is good so I'll finish up here" Dr Jameson said as a smile grew on my face.
"Ok thank you Sarah" I said leaving to scrub out letting her take over.
I walked over to Derek's room and he wasn't there but a voice spoke behind me a voice way to familiar.
"Miss me" he said as I turned around it was the man I've been in love with for years but with no tubes and no wires not even an IV and was walking around in his old man pyjamas.
"Derek" is all I could get out before running and hugging him.
"Hey beautiful how have you got prettier in 3 weeks and what have I missed" he asked guiding me towards a couch in his room.
Derek's POV 
I loved hearing her ramble on about surgery and the news but when she came to one piece of information that I was more than happy about hearing... My kids.
"Chris is fine he's missed his daddy but he came in a few times and he fell asleep on you once and your little girl is kicking away" she said as I nodded
"Well that's good that's really good....wait what we're having a little girl?" He said happily as I nodded
"Little slow there" I laughed as he pulled me in for a hug.
"We're having a little girl" I confirmed smiling. I loved this moment and I can't wait for more moments like these.
