Day at work

"Derek I need to sit down" Meredith said walking into my office
"Ok" I replied not looking up from my paperwork
"How's your day been"
"Boring I've been chained to the desk all day as there has been zero trauma today how are you" I said getting up and walking towards her and sitting down
"I've been charting all day because Matthews is being a spoilt child and has taken all surgery's she's just not listening to the fact that I'm head of neuro"
"I'll have a word with her" I said kissing her cheek before my phone rang
"Hello"
"Chief there is ambulances bringing in a bus load of kids after a crash we need you down here there 20 mins out" Owen said
"Ok" I said hanging up the phone
"What's going on"
"Bus full of kids crashed there 20 mins out"
"Ok"
As we were walking down I could just think about what Spencer said last night after Mer went home
Flashback
Knock knock
"Come in" I shouted
"Derek we need to talk" she said
"Ok what is it"
"I love you Derek I didn't after the wedding but the way you are with Meredith I just wish I had kept you and had a kid with you but I let you go" she said stunning me
"Nope I'm not staying in here with you" I said getting up basically running out the door
End of flashback
"The next set of kids are heading to Seattle Pres" Owen said
I was in trauma 2 with a 8 year old kid with a piece of glass in his head but it next went through the skull.
"You ready little man" I asked before I started and he nodded
"This won't hurt it'll just feel a little weird"
I started to pull it out when I started to hear shouting. After I got it out I placed it in a bowl
"Can you put pressure on this I'm going to go check what's going on" I told a nurse
"Yea sure and its Matthews and Shepherd" she replied as I sighed
I stormed my way through the door
"Matthews, Shepherd ambulance bay now" I shouted and they started to walk out.
"What is going on with you two" I asked
"She is trying to steal all my patients" Meredith said
"She is trying to boss me around" Spencer replied
"Well she is aloud to she is your boss"
"Yea but I am just trying to take weight off her shoulders"
"I don't need any weight off" Mer said before they started at each other again then
"Just because your husband wants me back" Spencer said
"That's not true" Mer replied
"Spencer you declared your love to me and I basically ran out the room do you not remember that" I said
"Deep down you still want me" she replied as I shook my head
"Chief next set of rigs 9 minutes out" Owen shouted
"Ok right Dr Shepherd do you need any weight of your shoulders" I asked
"No chief" she replied
"Dr Matthews do you have a problem with that"
"No chief" she said
"Right then Dt Matthews take the patient in trauma 1 to CT then to surgery and Dr Shepherd you can see the next rig in" I said watching Spencer walk away and Meredith was about to
"Dr Shepherd a word in private" I said taking her hand and walking round the corner
"Thank you for that" she said taking my other hand
"Just my job about what she said..."
"No I know what happened Alex saw it all....did you really run away from her"
"I did....I love you Mer you know that right" I said and she nodded
"I love you too" she replied and I pulled her in for a quick kiss and a long hug.
"We've got lives to save and then I need to talk to chief Shepherd about maternity leave" she said
"Okay" I said hugging her again.
