Sitting at the Lake

"Alex where is Mer" I asked putting my coat on
"I don't know Cristina said she got in her car and drove off still in her scrubs we've never seen Mer like this before" he replied and I started to think about where she would be and why she would go out in the pouring rain in just her scrubs. The more I thought about it the more I realised where she would be........the Scotstoun Lake she followed me there when I had my bad days.
"Thanks" I said walking away and calling a cab since I drove Mer's car this morning. When the cab arrive I ran out in the pouring rain towards it and hopped in.
"Entrance to Scotstoun dock" I said as he nodded and drove off the entrance was a five minute walk to the lake so it was easier to walk instead of getting the cab driver to go over bumps and branches etc. When we arrived I saw Meredith's car sitting in a space. I handed the driver money and got out and started walking to the lake.
I saw Meredith sitting at the edge of the dock with her feet hanging off the edge.
"Meredith" I said softly and heard her cry harder so I sat down next to her and wrapped my jacket around her then pulled her in for a hug and she started to cry more into my chest.
"Derek promise me you'll never leave again" she said
"I promise" I said into her wet hair
"Let's get you home" I said helping her up and walked her to the car with my arm holding the jacket round her
"Derek I don't need this take it back" she replied trying to take it off
"No your freezing I don't care if I soaking and cold you need to stay dry"
"I love you Derek"
"I love you too Mer"
I drove back to the house when we got in we changed into dry clothes and cuddled up on the couch with her head on my chest.
