"So what time do you get off tonight" I asked Derek who had his head on my belly
"Ehm I'm not working today" he said looking up
"Since when?" I replied
"Since I told you the other day"
"So you did. Sometimes this pregnancy brain really gets on my nerves"
"Yea but it makes you cuter" he said planting a kiss on my lips then getting up
"Where are you going"
"We are going on a walk we need to get out the house" he said grabbing my hands and helping me out of bed.
I got changed and headed down stairs where I was greeted by Mrs Shepherd.
"Hello there Meredith how are you" she said very happy while Izzie and Alex stood smiling too
"I'm good Carolyn how are you" I replied very confused
"I'm great now where's my boy"
"He'll be down in a minute he's getting ready" I said as Derek comes running down stairs with his shirt undone putting on his shoes as he comes down stairs then running into the kitchen.
"Derek why are you rushing" I asked
"Mer we've been paged giant crash on the freeway all hands on deck" he replied handing me my pager then buttoning up his shirt then doing his tie but stopping
"Mom what are you doing here" he asked looking at her
"I came to see my boy and my favourite daughter in law" she replied
"Well I'm sorry but we really need to go what about we go out for dinner later" I said
"Yea sure I'll pop by the hospital later and see Mark and Lexie if there not busy"
"OK ma I'll see you later" he said kissing her cheek and we left.
