The Grey Reality

Hey there

I arrived in Seattle at 5:30AM and headed to the hospital. When I got there I went through the front doors revealing the busy hallways of SGMW Hospital. I was walking through the hallways and was spotted by Callie.
"Oh my god Derek your ok" she said hugging me
"Yea I'm ok were you expecting other wise"
"No it's just I haven't talked to you in a long time"
"I know I haven't really talked to anyone but Mark and occasionally Arizona"
"She never told me" she said as her pager buzzed
"I'll see you soon" she said hugging me again and walking away.
I decided to go catch up on sleep so I went to the attending's lounge and sleep there. I got about an hour of sleep before my phone rang it was Emma.
"Hey sweetie" she said
"Hi" I replied
"Did I wake you"
"Kind of yea" I said rubbing my eyes
"Oh I'm sorry I just wanted to know if you got there ok" she said as a loud voice echoed in the background
"Yea I got here fine....are you in an airport?"
"Yea I have to fly to London on a case"
"Ok what case" I asked before Meredith and a guy walked in.
"I gotta go I'll call you later ok"
"Ok bye I love you" she said and I smiled
"Love you too" I said before I hung up
"Hey there" I said
"Hi long time no see" she said laughing a little
We stood there in science for a minute.
"Derek this is Tom Solomon, Tom this is Derek Shepherd" Meredith said as I shook his hand
"Nice to meet you" he said
"Like wise" I replied
"Derek do you want to meet for lunch and we can sign those papers" she said
"Why don't we do it now and I'll go hand them in" I replied
"Ok then" she pulled out the papers and a pen and signed before handing them over.
"I'm gonna go read them first I've gotta go catch up with people anyway" I said picking them up and walking out until Meredith stopped me.
"Derek you should go see Christopher he should be here with George he was 20 minutes behind us in my car" she said
"Ok thanks" I replied walking out.
I went out and started walking my first stop was the paediatric ward. When I arrived up there I saw Arizona and Alex.
"Robbins I have a patient in need of a hug he has been without one since he left 9 months ago and is here to have it renewed" I laughed as she ran towards me then hugging me.
"Oh Shepherd your back" she said
"Well just for a week then I'm heading back" I said letting her go
"Dude where have you been" Alex asked
"Glasgow" I replied
"As in Glasgow, Scotland"
"Yes as in Glasgow,Scotland"
"Ok then we've missed you all here have you seen Mer" she asked
"Yea she gave me the divorce papers she's already signed the balls now in my court 2nd divorce on its way woohoo anyway who's that douche Tom anyway"
"That's the boyfriend" Alex said
"That's him god she really went downhill in her taste of men" I laughed
"Have you met anyone" Arizona asked
"Yes I have 7 months ago I met Emma McBaird" I replied
"Wait a minute thee Emma McBaird ground breaking orthopaedic/paediatric surgeon" they both said
"Why yes it is"
"Why do you always get the good women" Arizona said
"You have Callie"
"Doesn't mean I can't fantasise" she said as George walked towards us on the way to the Daycare with Christopher.
"O'Malley may I see my son" I asked walking towards him
"No you can't sir" he said
"What?" I asked confusingly
"Dr Solomon told me this morning he doesn't want you near his son" he said nervously
"His son, O'Malley hand my son or I will hurt you" I shouted as he handed him over
"Hey little guy remember me I'm your daddy" I said as he grabbed my chin
"Arizona could you get me his records please" I said smiling at him before handing him back to George
"Oh ok I thought you would want to take him to daycare" George asked
"I have Dr Solomon to talk to but before that I'm going to look at my sons file" I said putting emphasis on the my.
As I opened his file I saw his name Christopher Derek Shepherd and it made me smile we never gave him a last name so Meredith must have gave him that after I left as I flicked through his chart more I saw that everything was fine. I closed the chart handed it to a nurse then headed off to find Tom. I looked around and I couldn't find him until I found him at the outdoor coffee cart.
"Hey Dr Solomon how are you" I said all happy
"Dr Shepherd please call me Tom" he replied
"Call me Derek" I smiled
"So Derek how is it being back"
"Well Tom it was great until O'Malley said you wouldn't let him come near me with my son"
"I never said that"
"Your a terrible liar Solomon I know you did"
"I have no idea what your talking about" he said picking up his coffee
"You don't deserve Meredith you lying ungrateful douche bag"
"What's going on here" Mark said walking over
"Well Dr Sloan I am about to show this waste of space how we do it in Seattle" I said
"Oh ok" he said then sat down
I hit the coffee over his face and chest then taking a swing at him hitting him full on then again then one more time after that letting him fall with a bloody nose, lip and eye brow.
I fixed my tie and waist coat before walking away like nothing happened.
