The Letter

When I walked outside I was trying to think if I knew any man named Jefferson but I couldn't think of any. I saw a man sitting on the truck of a car.
"Can I help you sir?" I asked offering my hand
Instead of shaking my hand he put an envelope in my hand then jumped back into the car and drove off. I opened the letter and read to myself.

Dear Derek,
I don't know why I am doing this because I know you're probably happy with Meredith and Christopher and probably more that you added to your family but I couldn't keep this to myself. Oh! And the man who delivered this letter is a family friend who offered to deliver it for me. Right...I am going to take it back to the time we broke up. When I got home I missed you so much and that I didn't know why I wanted you back after you just left me for Meredith. It was a few weeks after we broke up that I decided to go to the doctor and found out that I was pregnant. Derek you have another child. Charles McBaird (Charlie) who is 2 years old (almost 3) and was born on the 23 September 2014. Derek I am writing to ask if you want him in your life you may have other children but you have Charlie as well and I just need to know for our son if you want him to know his own father rather than spending the rest of his life saying what if? Or who is it?

"Who was it Shepherd?" She asked as I handed her the letter "oh god! What are you going to tell Mer?"
"I really don't know but I'm trying to think about what would Darrin do? But the Darrin Stevens would never lie to Samantha about another child because he would need to as he would never have another child...I shall sleep on it not a word do you hear!" I said getting up and walking inside...
