As we approached the ER entrance we had stopped to allow Meredith to throw up. As she was doing so I got Lori to go and get someone. After a minute she came back with a nurse and a wheelchair.
"Cmon Dr Shepherd let's get you inside" the nurse said helping me in as Meredith was wheeled in.
I was led to a bed in which I waited in for a whole hour while Meredith was given fluids.
"Derek what happened?" Callie asked as she approached me
"I've been getting this pain all day what is it?" I replied
"Well I don't know let's get you up to X-Ray and see what's up and then we'll do an ultrasound if nothing pops up." She said wheeling me off leaving Lori with Meredith.
After the X-Ray and ultrasound Callie took me into the viewing room and showed me what had happened.
"Derek how much have you been on your feet since the surgery?" She asked
"A lot why?" I replied moving closer
"The scar tissue around where the cancer was is inflamed a lot and I'm not sure if I can fix it" she explained as she sat down next to me
"So what are my options" I asked
"You have 3. One exploratory surgery, two we wait and see if it gets better with medicine or we have to take the leg"
"Gee really" I said stunned
"So what will it be Derek?"........
