It was rare for Ash to express his feelings so openly, even more against a stranger. He must have been truly offended by what happened.

"I'm truly sorry, I was only doing my job. Here's a gift I made for you to ask for forgiveness while I was waiting outside. I hope you like it." Rick showed a crudely made cat plushie. The strings weren't tied properly, and the quality was poor, but they could all see how much effort he must have put into making it. The guy was burly with big fingers, working on such a small project must have asked every bit of his patience and concentration.

They could all see the bandages around his fingers, some of them still oozing blood from the little wounds he must have gotten when making it. Rick was holding the plushie precariously, trying not to dirty it. The scout looked like a nervous wreck.

Ash glanced at the cat, blinking his slanted eyes as he took in the poor, but hard work. His angry snarls stopped as he quietly looked at the big man stumbling over his words. The shifter glanced at Adam, to see if the warrior was still angry at the scout, but as the warrior nodded with a smile at him, Ash decided to let go of his grudge.

He was a good boy, and good boys could forgive someone that truly repented after doing something bad.

Ash slowly came out of behind Evan, trotting slightly as he approached Rick. The scout bent down to be at the same eye-level, hopefully holding out the plushie.

"Ok, I f-forgive you... b-but don't d-do it ag-again!" The snake said, his fangs making him stumble cutely on the words. The scout beamed like sun rays were coming out of his pores as Ash took the cat plushie, holding it close to his chest before scrambling away to return to his hiding place. Evan gently ruffled the shifter's hair as he came beside him this time, not behind. The giant smiled and nodded at the child as the latter looked up at him to ask if he did well.

Rick blinked at the strange sight of the giant smiling, not having expected the man to be able to do anything besides frown with his facial muscles. He nearly dropped his jaw when Adam came closer to the two bonding with Blaze in his arms, and Evan's eyes almost melted with fondness when taking his lover in.

The scout was glad to know that his dear friend's son had found such a good partner.

Rick came back to his senses as he felt four pairs of eyes locked on him, the family waiting for him to guide them to their tent.

"Ah, right, sorry. You can follow me! You will have two separated tents linked together, so the parents can have a room for themselves while not being too far from the kids. There are also insulation spells on the tissue so no sound will come out of the parents' tent, but the child's yes. You will find any... necessities in the drawers and such." Rick explained as he led the way. Even though he didn't say anything explicit before the children, Adam and Evan quickly caught on what was left unsaid. Evan glanced at Adam, meeting the shorter man's eyes, before smirking naughtily.

Adam squeezed his ass's cheeks as a deep blush overtook his face, it could even be faintly seen under his dark skin.

His mission accomplished, Evan turned his face back to the front.

Blaze looked up from where he had been in Adam's arms, staring at his dad in confusion as he had felt the man's skin suddenly heat up. The warrior didn't look like he had a fever, which confused him even more. However, he knew that his father would take good care of his dad, so his help was unnecessary. Tossing his worries aside, the fox continued to glance all around them in amazement.

As they walked through the village, tribe's members would stop what they were doing to curiously glance at them, mostly without any animosity. The children would point at Blaze and Ash while smiling brightly, making petting motions, but their parents would hold them back with a chuckle before waving at this group. The adults mostly looked at Adam in wonder, scanning him up and down and getting confused when not finding a single tattoo on him. Still, seeing as their group was with Rick, they didn't worry too much.

A few glared at their group, a strong animosity coming from them, but they were mostly old folks and they settled down when Rick glared at them.

All the tribe's members had tattoos of various shapes on them, some were tribal ones, others were ferocious animals, but they were all amazing. The work done was meticulous. They mostly all had dark skin with dark hair and black eyes, but a few had lighter skin tone and different color of hair and eyes, probably from outsiders that wed in the tribe or children born from such alliance.

Adam felt a weird bubbly feeling in his chest when taking in this sight. From where he came from, he had always been the black sheep, with skin and hair different from everyone else. He had tried to fit in, but it had always ended in failure. He had been mocked for his appearance, called names and treated worse than an animal.

But not here.

Here, he was just like everyone else.

It truly felt like he had finally found another place where he belonged.

Of course, it would never beat the first place where he belonged, with Evan, Blaze and Ash. Still, he could finally shake off some of the gloomy feeling imprisoned in his heart for so long because of his appearance and the mistreatment that was issued because of it.

At this exact moment, Adam knew that he would love to come back one day to the tribe when everything would be done, and he hoped that his precious little family would agree with him.

Hey dear readers, Ash is so sweet!
