They did find Kaleb alive a few hours later. Well, alive wasn't exactly the best term to describe him. The dark mage acted as if he had been close to dying, all alone and lost in this huge garden.

He resentfully told them he had been waiting for the trio to remember him and send someone to his rescue. However, he waited in vain, curled into a ball in a corner, crying out his heart as the hours passed.

He had been so scared he even forgot he could have just teleported to the men.

That did make Ben feel less bad when he learnt of this.

Still, Kaleb glared at them through the slit of his puffy eyes, mumbling about treason and revenge. The mage fair skin had gotten an angry red all over his eyes and nose and he honestly looked like a puffer fish.

The three men had had to hold back from breaking out into a laugh when they had found him.

"Kaleb." Ben tried to test the waters as they all walked among the villagers, heading for their next destination. The dark mage only crossed his arms with a pout and turned his face away from the commander. Adam chastised him by telling him to stop acting like a baby, but Kaleb only answered by making baby sounds, which made the warrior facepalm at the older man's childishness. How the mage had survived until now was beyond his understanding.

"Kaleb, what if I told you we are going to see a smith, and that said smith is Will, the brother of Jim who Dalia told you about? They have a shop where they mix their two arts. You will be able to get your rope! And not only that, I will let you pick another item of your choosing for free to apologize for... not sending a rescue team." The commander proposed, hiding his mouth behind his fist and coughing to hide the giggle at the end of his sentence.

Kaleb's eyes shone through the slit of it and he opened his mouth, before suddenly taking back his angry stance.

"Two. Two more items for free and I will graciously forgive you all." Adam rolled his eyes at the greedy little thing's counter offer. He knew the dark mage would try to get more for free, he looked like the type to like getting things for free.

His assumptions were right.

"Ok, fine by me. So, are we alright now?" Ben asked to make sure in a teasing tone, starting to understand the man's behavior. Kaleb nodded as if he was doing them a great favor and waved in the air as if shooing the bad energy away.

The mage's whole demeanor changed after that as if a switch had been turned on and he was suddenly bouncing around, singing about getting free stuff.

"Oh god, he will be like that for a while. Don't give him sugar, please." Adam told Ben, knowing that a hyper Kaleb mixed with sugar would surely lead to an explosion. The commander nodded in a gravely manner, also having come to the same conclusion.

All the while, Evan looked deep in thoughts, not even paying any attention to the interaction which had just taken place. Adam looked at his bear in worry, but it didn't seem to be a remnant of his last breakdown. The warrior let his lover in his thoughts, not wanting to disturb him for nothing.

Once they reached the smith, Adam was close to choking Kaleb to make him shut up.

Luckily, once he saw the shop, the dark mage screamed about free kinky stuff and hurried toward the more audacious section of the smith, freeing the trio of his presence.

"So, what do you want to buy? I can recommend some good weapons or armors to you guys." Ben asked as they wandered through the alleys in search of Will. Adam didn't really know why Evan wanted to see a smith, so he let his partner answer the question.

"I want to get a custom made armor for Adam, the giants' ones are too big. I also have something I want custom made that I need to speak to Will in private for." Adam cocked his head at Evan's mysterious last words. The half-giant didn't even look at him when saying the words, as if he also didn't want him to know, and not just Ben.

Well, that was strange.

"No problem! Come here, you guys!" A strong booming voice was suddenly heard from a corner of the shop. The trio glanced at each other before following the voice. Once they turned the corner hiding the voice, their sight was greeted with a red-head giant putting a metal rod into a furnace and slowly turning it.

"Hi, I'm Will! The person called Adam, please follow my assistant, Tom, he will take your measurements. Ben, you can leave me with the other one to talk about the custom order." The man, Will, said as he nodded toward another giant standing beside him and taking notes. Tom waved at Adam and started walking toward a closed door.

The warrior followed him after standing on his tiptoe to steal a peck on Evan's lips.

Ben also walked behind them, glancing back at Evan to make sure it was fine. The half-bred only nodded at him before focusing back on Will. He was glad that the giant had caught on to the fact that he wanted his order to be a surprise to the others, and mostly Adam.

"So, what can I do for you?" The red-head asked Evan, who explained his idea. It took a while for the giant to note all the details and precisions that Evan wanted for the order, and once he was done, his little notepad was full of messy scribbling all over it. Suddenly feeling a surge of creating enthusiasm, the giant clapped his hands and beamed.

"I haven't done this before, it will be fun! Don't worry, it will be perfect." Will said as he winked at Evan. The half-bred relaxed his tense shoulders and let out a long breath. He wiped his shaky palms on his pants and massaged his nape.

He hoped it would truly be perfect. Adam deserved nothing less than perfect.

Hey dear readers, what do you think Evan ordered?
