Warning : violence and gore
The bear once again rose on his back legs, roaring as he swung his paws around. Evan dodged, his body crouched in a half squat, slightly turned as he raised his arms, fists to his jaw, raising his guard. It wouldn't do much against a bear's paw with sharp claws, but years of training had made Evan develop habits when fighting.
His feet danced around the bear as if in a waltz, bringing his body closer to deliver some quick jabs, before hurrying back to dodge the attacks. Evan could tell the monster was getting frustrated with his footwork, but his own body was also getting tired.
The vines that sprouted from the ground were dragging his speed down and his energy level too, much faster than normal.
Evan debated doing another throw, as his muscles were still quivering from the last one. Still, he felt like it was his only chance to win. Delivering another strong blow in the exact same spot as the last one would surely end the bear. It was risky though. First, he needed enough strength to do the throw, and then he would need to be precise enough to hit the same spot as the first time. If he didn't muster enough energy or missed the mark, he would be minced meat for dinner.
Still, he couldn't continue much longer like that, he wasn't built for a long-lasting fight. His training was based on fast and heavy attacks that brought down his opponents in a few minutes. He had already been fighting the bear for hours now, dodging, punching and kicking around.
He had cuts and bruises on his body from when he wasn't fast enough to completely dodge the attack, and his legs had injuries all over from the vines. His fists were throbbing painfully and his knuckles were bloodied.
A decision had to be made, now.
Evan would normally have gone with an Uki-goshi, which is a throw made by grabbing the hips, but his arms aren't long enough to embrace the monster's hips. They weren't like Adam's hips, perfect for grabbing. Shaking the dirty thought out of his lustful mind, Evan instead chose to do a Tai-otoshi.
The giant dodged a few times, looking for the good moment to do it. As the bear tried a wider attack, his balance broke slightly, making him stumble. Evan seized the opportunity and came before the monster, close enough to grab his fur, which he did. His left hand on the bear's right elbow, and his right hand grabbing the bear's chest by his fur, the giant put his right foot forward and brought up the bear's paw by rotating his body, making the bear lean toward above his forward leg.
Evan pivoted his body and made sure to tuck his forearm in front of the bear's chest, to have an easier leverage.
The giant made a small circular back step with his left leg before thrusting his right leg right in front of the bear's legs, his calf against the front of the shin. Still holding the bear fur, Evan made sure he wasn't completely against the bear, but slightly toward the side.
Diving with his forearm against the bear's chest, Evan threw the bear over his leg, sending the bear once again on his back with an angry roar.
Not wasting any time, the giant took a couple steps back for more motion before running and jumping on the bear, driving his elbow deep into the monster's stomach, exactly on point with what he had planned.
The bear threw up a huge amount of blood, failing with his limbs in the air as he tried to turn his body.
Evan took his distance, already taking on a fighting stance in case the bear still had vitality to continue. The animal got up with difficulty, his limbs shaking and blood coming out of his mouth along with bubbly saliva. The giant tensed as the bear approached with slow steps, but just as the monster came closer, his body shut down, crashing on the ground with a loud sound.
Evan kept his guard up, his alertness not letting him make a single rookie mistake.
Still, as he watched the bear body relax and breathe his last breath, his eyes becoming murky, he knew he had won. The giant fell down on his butt, his breath shaky and his whole body hurting. His left wrist was starting to swell, probably twisted from when he threw the bear over his shoulder.
It was one of the most difficult fights he had fought since leaving his father's kingdom. Adam's absence had also made it much harder as the giant had grown accustomed to following a leader's orders and having someone watch his back.
Evan couldn't wait to get back to his lover. He hoped that his partner and children's trials had gone well, but he didn't doubt that they had all succeeded.
The sun was going down in the horizon, so Evan started to set up his small camp, covering the bear in strong smelling herbs to hide its scent from other predators. Just as he was rummaging in a bush, he found himself face to face with a beautiful silver snake. The giant froze, not sure if the snake, not much longer than his forearm, was poisonous.
His guard was up as he stood frozen, waiting to see how the animal would react.
However, the snake looked shocked to see him. It froze and if Evan believed that snakes could feel emotions like humans, he would have sworn the snake was bewildered by their meeting and was panicking.
Just as the giant was about to make a move to grab the pretty little thing, thinking that maybe Ash would like to keep it as a pet, the snake slithered away like the tip of its tail was on fire. Disappointed, the giant went back to looking for more herbs, wondering about what just happened, and also why the snake was holding what looked like herbs in his mouth.
Well, he probably wouldn't see the small silver snake again anyways.
Hey dear readers, what did you think of Evan's fight?
What about the cutie snake?
