Running in my Head by MIYAVI~

The villagers all seemed frozen after Blaze's introduction, blinking absentmindedly toward their family. Finally, one of them woke up from his stupor and 'pfft'-ed at his confident attitude, guffawing at the shifter.

"I like this kid! You are welcome to come here with us, little fox. Of course, your family can come too. You can call me Mark." The man said, slapping his thighs as he sat cross legged before the bonfire, surrounded by other villagers. The tribe members around him made space, gesturing their good-will. Adam and Evan exchanged a glance before heading there, glad that Blaze was so carefree.

"Hello, my name's Adam." The warrior introduced himself, bowing slightly at the others before sitting down beside the already eating Blaze. The fox engulfed the meat presented to him by Mark, chewing quickly to fill his cheeks even more.

"I'm Evan, Adam's lover." The giant followed, sitting close to his man and already stating his claim on his partner to avoid anyone having unorthodox thoughts about Adam. He had already seen ladies batting their lashes at Adam and men checking him out. His lover was charismatic and beautiful, of course he expected all kinds of bees around them, but his goal was to chase them away.

Adam was his.

Seemingly feeling his possessive and grumpy attitude coming out, Adam took Evan's hand, squeezing it as he smiled at his lover. It calmed down the giant. The slave knew that his master would never leave him for another, he just didn't like having vixens around them. Evan started to make a plate for his partner, while Adam did the same for him, the lovers enjoying doing sweet little things for each other.

"I-I'm A-Ash!" The snake stuttered out before squeezing himself against Evan, avoiding all the people staring at him. He heard a few coos, but chose to pretend like he was all alone with his family. There were just too many people for his poor heart.

The shifter stared hard at the floor, debating whether to pick his own food or ask Evan. The vegetable bowls were just a little too high for him to reach, and he was scared of burning himself with the meat's stick.

Just as he was about to tug on the giant's pants, he suddenly had a bowl filled with meat and vegetables thrusted before his eyes. The snake blinked in surprise, following the small hand holding the bowl until he reached its owner.

A young boy, looking just a few years older than him, was crouching beside him. He had black pupils, reminding Ash of the abyssal night without any stars. His hair was jet black and reached his waist, going well with his dark skin. He had a few tribal tattoos on, showing that he had passed the challenges for kids.

"You looked hungry, do you want it?" The boy smiled as he shook the bowl before Ash, showing off his white teeth. It was then that Ash noticed the fangs in the boy's mouth. His eyes truly took in the child's appearance and he realized that he had long scaly ears, black scales all around his body and a chubby serpent tail.

The boy was a snake shifter, just like him.

"So? You don't want it?" The boy insisted, his ears dropping slightly as he thought that Ash didn't want the bowl he meticulously made for him. He had never served anyone else in the tribe, apart from his mother when she was still alive, but when he saw the cute silver snake nearly shivering from fear, but looking enviously at the food, he couldn't stop himself. He didn't think he would one day call another person cute, but it was the only word in his head when looking at Ash, he had to resist the strong urge of pitching the child's rosy cheeks with his itchy fingers.

"Ah! O-of course, th-thank you...erm..." Ash timidly said as he came out of his trance. He took the heavy bowl from the boy's hands, wondering how to call the boy as he wasn't given his name. The bowl was so full that the shifter wasn't even sure if he would be able to finish it. If he did, he would surely roll to the tent after.

"You are welcome! You can call me Riz!" Riz introduced himself, beaming at his new friend. He sat beside him, making himself a bowl too. Ash silently ate his food, not sure how to engage the conversation, or if Riz wanted to talk.

"Soooo, where are you from?" The black snake started the conversation, excited to hear all of Ash's stories from outside the tribe. Even though the Aleksy's tribe was nomadic, they always passed by the same trails, or by similar ones, so he never really lived adventures or saw new things. His curiosity was never ending as he fired questions after questions at Ash, the small snake answering to the best of his abilities. Soon, the two children were chatting excitedly with each other, forgetting everything around them as they engaged in a passionate conversation.

Evan glanced down at the two snakes, smiling softly as he picked up the small plate he had been making for Ash and ate it instead as the shifter didn't need it anymore.

"I'm glad he made a friend so quickly." Adam whispered to him, his close breath making his ear itchy. The giant turned toward his lover with dark eyes, nodding at his word even though his mind was starting to wander. He looked at his lover's side profile, Adam's skin shining in the darkness as it reflected the fire's flames. The fire made his icy blue eyes pop out even more. The warrior had a relaxed expression, enjoying the small talks with other tribe members and looking over his children both occupied in captivating talks.

The rest of the supper was spent in a joyful atmosphere, no one making mean comments or showing an attitude toward them.

Once they were full, and Blaze and Ash started to have droopy eyes, Adam and Evan bidded farewell to the villagers as they each took one of the sleepy children in their arms. The kids were already sleeping once they reached their tent, so the two parents put them to bed, making sure that they were comfortable before heading toward their own tent.

Adam swayed his hips slightly while glancing mischievously toward his lover behind him, beckoning the giant with his finger. Evan growled, knowing that they were both more than ready to melt into the other's warmth.

They had been exchanging lustful glances during all the supper, discreetly caressing the other's skin and teasing each other. They were excited to finally have their own room and be able to make love without the kids around.

The night was still young, and their bodies were still strong.
