Chapter 104

Blaze was already snoring on his and Ash's bed, his extremities pointing in all directions as he slept on his back. The covers were down on the ground, likely kicked in his sleep. Evan headed for their chamber and gently settled down Adam.

He took the sleeping Ash in his hands, the snake barely covering his palm, and returned to the kids' chamber. Fearing that the shifter would be cold in his snake form, the giant put him inside a nest of furry covers, covering him with only his little puppy-like snout out of the nest.

He took the covers that had fallen on the ground and draped them over the snoring fox, holding down a chuckle when Blaze mumbled a 'no more meat, please...' in his sleep while rubbing his full stomach.

Once Evan was sure that the children were settled for a long deserved nap, he went back into their chamber and closed the curtain in between the two rooms. The bear walked to their bed and stopped beside it, looking down at a peacefully sleeping Adam. He knew his lover would probably be disgusted if he woke up with his dirty clothes covered in blood, so the giant proceeded to strip his partner naked.

There was nothing sexual in his moves, his hand moving quickly and with accuracy. He threw the torn clothes into a container used for trash, knowing that no amount of sewing would repair the big holes in them.

Looking down at his naked lover on their bed, Evan pondered silently before concluding that a bath was necessary. Adam liked to feel fresh when waking up, and it would help him rest better if he wasn't covered in dried sweat and blood.

The giant drew a bath in the cylinder tub they were given to wash up, using the fire mana stones to heat up the water and adding fragrant petals into it so that Adam woke up smelling good. He knew that his partner would never admit it out loud as it broke his cold image, but he liked smelling like flowers. Having spent nearly a year with Adam, Evan had already taken notes of the preferences that his hedgehog kept hidden.

Once the tub was full, Evan stripped down until he was standing naked in the bathroom. He tested the water, making sure that it was the right temperature, before heading back toward the bed to grab Adam. He carried the warrior to the bath and then got in with him still in his arms, settling him down on his laps as he sat in the tub.

Adam mumbled sleepily, a peaceful smile taking over his face as his tense features relaxed.

Evan smiled fondly as his lover relaxed, Adam letting out a relieved sigh when the giant started to wash his hair, fingers gently scratching his scalp. Evan made sure to tilt back Adam's head to avoid getting soap into his eyes as he washed his hair. Once this part was done and he had untangled all the knots in his hedgehog ebony's hair, he proceeded to scrub Adam's chocolate skin with a sponge, gently moving in circular motion and making sure not to irritate the skin.

The warrior's skin was rough with bumpy scars, but it still deserved to be treated with care, or so Evan thought. Thus, he took his time washing Adam all over, spending more time around the new scars on his eyebrow and thigh, kissing the now marked skin with sadness. He didn't mind the new scars per say, it was more the fact that his lover had been hurt that saddened him.

It was like proof that he had failed to protect him, once more.

When Adam was finally sparkly clean, Evan washed himself too before getting out of the tub with his lover in his arms. He dried the warrior first before drying himself, and then proceeded to walk back to the bed, setting down Adam and getting under the covers with him.

They spent a few hours napping before Adam's grumpy stomach woke them up.

The warrior opened his eyes wearily, yawning tiredly as he snuggled into his bear's comfy chest. The curled hair tickled his face as he rubbed against the bouncy pectorals. Evan was also woken up by the earthquake-like sound that Adam's stomach made, and he stroked the man's back as he was used like a plush.

"Careful there..." Evan grumbled as Adam's lips brushed against his nipple, making the warrior freeze. Any other time, he would have loved nothing more than to tease his giant and get rammed by his fat manhood, but he was dead tired and every muscle on his body was aching.

"That's what I thought." The giant chuckled as he brushed the warrior's hair back, titling Adam face so that he could look into his lover's deep blue eyes. He pecked his forehead, then his nose, before finishing with a tender kiss on his plump lips.

"You scared me... I thought I had lost you... I love you, Adam." Evan whispered as his hazelnut eyes stared into Adam's icey ones. Sensing the vulnerability in his partner's voice and seeing the pain in his eyes, Adam's throat felt clogged. He swallowed with difficulties, stretching his neck to answer the man's kisses with one of his own, their lips melting together as they kissed sweetly.

"I'm here now, and nothing can separate us anymore. I love you too, Evan." Adam answered as he moved back slightly to be able to speak, his lips brushing against Evan's ones as he spoke, his hot breath fanning against his mouth. Evan initiated the kiss again, things not escaping further than that. They just needed to feel connected for a few minutes.

They didn't say 'I love you' often, it wasn't their style. They knew they were obsessed with each other, they could feel it, words weren't necessary. However, sometimes, they liked to say it out loud.

Those three words were like a comfort blanket when one of them was feeling under the weather.
