Warning : Gore and violence

Adam pierced a wolf' stomach with his spear and added an input of mana to make ice shards explode. The beast let out a whimper before going limp. On his side, Evan punched a goblin, sending it flying with a fractured jaw. Blaze also joined the battle by snapping animals' legs and paws, making them unable to properly fight the villagers.

The wolves growled and the goblins let out shierks of anger, but the trio was on a mission and would in no way stop his massacre.

Adam swung his spear above his head with dexterity before making a large move to rip all the monsters' heads, his left feet leaving a trail as it grazed the ground while his right one stayed firmly anchored. The warrior then continued to swiftly pearce his enemies, going as far as to jump on a wolf to be able to deal a blow by above to a rather tall goblin. He, of course, disemboweled the canine after.

Evan also helped him by throwing goblins toward him so that Adam could impale the green creatures. The giant would also slam his foot against the animals' stomach, crushing their vital organs and even do a flying kick to their heads. It ended with the heads being severed from the body.

Suddenly, the couple felt hot air flowing their way, and glancing away from their prey temporarily, they saw Blaze surrounded by wolves on fire. The beasts howled painfully as their fur burned and their skin melted, trying to roll on the ground to extinguish the fire, but miserably failing. The fox smugly lifted his head to the sky, looking like someone that just did a good job.

Both lovers exchange confused looks as Blaze shouted a fireball from his mouth toward a wolf running away. The animal instantly caught on fire as the tip of its tail made contact with the ball.

Evan suddenly swung a tiger claw at a goblin sneaking toward Adam's back, ripping his face apart, while the warrior threw his spear at a wolf charging in the giant's direction, piercing it from head to tail.

The two men slightly nodded at each other to show their appreciation, and then resumed their respective fight, putting Blaze unknown powers at the back of their heads. Seeing his two masters ignoring his powerful fighting style, the fox snorted, disappointed.

The fight was intense, and many villagers were injured, but never did the monsters touch the children and elderly. Adam and Evan did their best to defend the villagers against the army of monsters. Adam used his best moves to deal deadly blows while Evan simply crushed his foes with his bare hands. It did make the warrior gulp discreetly at the sheer force of his lover, hoping that he would never be the one receiving the hits. Still, he trusted the slave not to attack him, apart from in bed.

Then he could be as much of a beast as he wanted.

Coming out of his dirty thoughts, Adam realized that only the bigger wolves and goblins were left. He approached the circle of villagers, putting himself just before them where a crack had been created in the formation. Evan followed his example and stood on the other side of the circle, protecting the back.

The dark skinned man winced as a wolf attacked him front on, biting down on his spear, which he had placed horizontally before him to stop the beast. A fight of power took place as the wolf tried to snap the spear or force Adam to back off. Still, the warrior took a wider stance and held off, flinching slightly as the wolf growled and sent saliva dripping down its jaw.

Looking closely, as he was practically face to face with the monster, his nose inches away from the wolf's muzzle, Adam could see that the beast' eyes were bloodshot, the pupils much more dilated than normal. He could also smell a foul scent. What made him falter on his stance, however, were none other than the wolf's neck.

There, in a corner difficult to see if not close to the wolf's teeth, which normally meant death, the fur was shaved, with prickle holes. The skin looked as if it had been injected with something.

A lightbulb lit up in the warrior's head.

Like Adel had warned them on their way to the village, the wolves and goblins were truly bigger than normal, and also much more aggressive. She had also said in the guild that the goblins were smarter. It truly seemed to be the case. It was like the saber-tooth that Evan and him fought with the merchants.

Something was wrong with the beasts, and now, it seemed that it was caused by humans.

Still, what kind of immoral bastard would strengthen the monsters to attack humans?

A piercing pain awoke Adam from his thoughts, taking him back to the present. A goblin had taken advantage of the wolf's massive body to sneak toward the warrior, and while Adam was distracted, he had been attacked with a small hatchet.

The warrior cursed in pain before kicking the snickering goblin away. The wound wasn't life-threatening, but still painful, and blood was now flowing down his side. It had already started to attract the other monsters' attention.

Adam groaned as he resisted against the wolf still stuck to his spear, and taking a step forward to balance himself, the warrior started to gather mana in his mouth. He would normally send ice with the tip of his spear, or with a raising move with his hand, but now however, both options were cut off. Evan called Adam's name as he saw snowflakes forming around his master's head, the man's hair freezing as puffs of hot air escaped his nose. He had never seen the man do such a spell, and it was worrying him, even more so when he saw the wound on his lover's side. Just the sight of the scarlet blood flowing down on Adam's white shirt, along with the scent of iron, was enough to make his vision red.

He would have flown to his partner had he not been taken with the monsters before him. It was frustrating to see Adam in such a condition. Still, he knew better than to abandon the villagers for him, Adam would surely avoid him if he did so.

Suddenly, Adam glared at the wolf before smirking, his lips closed shut. The animal felt strangely threatened and flattered slightly, but it was too late.

Adam opened his mouth and spited at the wolf. However, instead of a normal spit, a sharp spear went flying at the wolf, piercing right in the middle of his head. Adam had been turning all his spit into ice and had given it a rotation with his tongue. It had hurt his tongue to do so, but it was worth it as the wolf tumbled down, dead.

The warrior coughed up the blood that had been accumulating in his mouth and then wiped his bloody lips before attacking the monsters behind the corpse. Evan glanced at him, worried, as he saw the blood escaping his master's mouth. He would have to check if the other man was fine later.

After what felt like hours, and must have been so, the two men finally tumbled down on the ground. They were exhausted, but the monsters were all dead, thankfully. The villagers cheered, crying tears of joy, but also of sorrow for the ones that had left this world.

The villagers thanked their saviors before hurrying to collect what was left of their crops and cattle. Half of the village was gone, along with their reserves. Still, it was just another day for them.

Death was a recurrent visitor.

Hey dear readers, they won!
