Once everyone was dressed and had freshened up, they had a little gathering to decide who would go and concluded that it would be safer if only Evan, Adam and Kaleb went. The children would be too much of an unknown factor to risk taking them and Athena couldn't stay away from the village for too long. As they didn't know how much time it would take, it was best to only bring those necessary.

Adam, as Evan's lover, would of course follow him everywhere he went, even more if it was to meet his in-law family.

The warrior wasn't sure yet what to feel toward this family, knowing what they did for his bear in the past, but what they also didn't do. He couldn't judge them, as he hadn't been in their shoes, but he also didn't feel that great about them. It would probably depend on how they receive them.

Evan and Adam stood before Kaleb, each holding one of the mage's hands.

"So now, Adam, please empty your mind, don't think about anything. Evan, think of your village, where you want to appear. Try to think of a large space without obstacles, to avoid any accidents." The dark mage explained and as he saw the two men nod and close their eyes, he too, also closed his and focused on his magic.

Spark and shadows intertwined around them before completely engulfing them and crashing down, revealing an empty space.

Adam shivered as he suddenly felt a strong and cold gust of wind. His teeth started to chatter and he struggled to open his eyes as his lashes were stuck together. He felt Evan's hand tightened around his and a sharp breath taken in beside him. He forced his eyes open and looked at an awe-struck Evan with his jaw dropped and his eyes wide in amazement.

Adam turned back toward where he was watching, met the confused eyes of a shivering Kaleb, before glancing up behind the mage.

His own amazement was shown as he looked at a gigantic wall of metal, two closed doors with magnificent carvings facing them.

Kaleb also turned to face the wall and swore under his breath at the sight.

"Is this your village? Couldn't you get us inside?" Kaleb muttered angrily as he wrapped the clothes made of fur around him tighter. Adam understood his anger, they were prepared as Evan had told them he lived in the cold mountains and had thus wrapped more fur clothes around them, but it couldn't stop the chilling wind from penetrating the fabric. While Evan looked like he wasn't cold in the slightest, Adam was shivering badly and his lips were turning purple.

"Sorry, it will be better to come from the front door. Suddenly appearing in a village of giants would have made us suspects and could have gotten us killed. The giants are mostly hit first and then talk after people. Come here, Pup." The half bred giant said as he took his lover in his arms, holding him close and rubbing his back to warm him up. Adam muttered a shaky thanks as his teeth continued chattering. Evan took pity on his shaky hedgehog and kissed him until he was breathless, sharing the warmth of his breath and saliva with the cold man.

Kaleb whistled at the hot sight, wishing he had a camera to capture the moment.

"Who are you!?Announce your identity this instant!" A shout came from above the wall and the trio glanced up with regret, Evan and Adam at having to stop kissing and Kaleb at having to stop watching the show. A bearded man was watching them from above with suspicious eyes, turning back to talk behind him before facing them again.

"I am Evan Gruntler, son of Malek Gruntler. I have come to ask for a favor. Let us in to talk to your chief or tell us to go back, we will do whatever you deem best." Evan took a step closer to the wall as he spoke, still holding Adam in his arms. They had all agreed to never let Evan beg for anything from his family. They would help them on their own will, or they would not.

They also didn't have any time to lose by trying to convince the stubborn giants.

"Evan!? Wait here, just- just wait there, ok!?" The bearded man shouted in surprise before disappearing behind the wall. The trio glanced at each other in wonder, but also glad that the man seemed to recognize Evan.

They instantly thought that maybe it wasn't that good of a news though when chaos erupted behind the wall, shouts and incoherent screaming being heard. The doors were still closed as they waited in the cold, and as they looked at each other, they slowly started to inch away from the doors.

Before they could get back into formation to teleport away, the doors opened in a big bang, startling them.

Behind the doors stood at least a few dozen people, much taller and buffier than Adam had ever seen. Once they saw the trio, they hurried toward them in a clatter of metal pieces meeting each other.

Adam and Kaleb, seeing such a herd of giants looking like they were going to collide with them, tried to run away, but Evan held them back by their hands.

"Stop." The half bred giant said, and while Adam and Kaleb thought he was talking to them, it was the giants who stopped running and instead slowed down to a slow walk before coming to a stop a few feet away from them.

"Ar- are you really Evan?" The same bearded man from above the wall said, stepping slightly closer with a shaky outstretched hand. His voice cracked and his eyes looked humid, and if it didn't come from an old man with a much too big beard, muscles bulging under his armor, hands big enough to crush your soul and a frightening height, then it would have passed as something cute.

"Of course he's Evan! Just look at him!" An old woman said as she smacked the man behind the head, making the trio wince as she also had rough hands larger than their heads.

"I'm Evan, yes. I have a favor to ask and we lack time. Do tell if you would help us or we will head back this instant." Evan cut to the point, feeling slightly uncomfortable with all the humid gazes on him.

He was already regretting this idea.

Hey dear readers, do you think they will help?
