We just touched down Italy, Luke and I, and to say I'm fucking nervous would be a fucking huge understatement, because I'm more than nervous, I don't even know how today would go, we were on our way to his parents house, his mom specifically asked that we go there first before we go over to his own personal house, because she wanted to see me.

I was a ball of nerves because I don't know what I'll meet in Luke's house, it's been years since I last saw his mother and Alicia, and I'm kind of ashamed of myself, because I left without telling them, his mother used to love me, she cared for me like she was my mother, and I just left like that, I never reached out to any of them.

And the day Alicia called me, I didn't have the balls to talk to her, the moment I realized it was her, I ended the call and never called back, or answered when she called, I am coward, that much I'm sure of.
And now I came back, where do I even begin if Luke's mother asks me why I left?

I turned to look at him in the driver's seat and he just gave me a warm smile, causing me to relax a bit "you're still thinking about it, aren't you"? He asked and I just swallowed hard "I told you, you're going to be fine, stop stressing over it, it's just my mom and Alicia" he said casually, causing me to snort out loudly

"Just your Mom and Alicia that I haven't seen in almost 15 years, what am I going to say"? I asked and he just smiled and shrugged

"They're still the same people from before, nothing has changed, you don't have to say anything" he muttered, like it was an easy thing, it's easy for him to say, he's not the one that bailed on his life 16 years ago.

"Easy for you to say" I mumbled out to him "what if they ask why I left"? I asked and I saw him tense before he looked at me and sighed out

"My mother doesn't know why you left, Alicia's does, so if my mom asks you just tell her you ran away from home because Winston was harassing you" he muttered out to me, that's not entirely a lie, only he didn't do it personally, he paid people to do his dirty work for him, but then I realized he just said Alicia knows why I left, I looked at him again and frowned

"How does Alicia know"? I asked and he just shrugged

"I told you she's a little piece of shit, she figured it out with time, after you left and..." He paused and looked at me, as if he didn't want to keep talking, but then he sighed out and continued talking "after you left and Winston threatened me and forced me to work for him, she started piecing things together, my sour mood, my always hanging around your father, and how I always avoided talking about you, she started digging around and after a while, she finally figured out why you left and what Winston did" he muttered out, causing me to clench my jaw.

He hates talking about it, there's always this sadness in his eyes whenever he talks about when I left and him Workin for my father, I never really asked him what exactly he did for my father.

"What did you do for him"? I asked and he just looked at me and frowned "you said you worked for him, what did you do"? I asked and he licked his lips, biting his cheek before he focused back on the road again.

"I killed people" he blurted out without as much as an emotion in his voice, my gaze cut through to him and he didn't look fazed by what he just confessed "whenever someone owed him, or crossed him, he would call me and have me kill or torture them" he added and I felt my heart break, not because Luke did bad things for my father, but because he didn't want to do it, because my father forced him to.

That man really was a monster, and I couldn't be any more glad that he's dead and out of our lives.
I didn't say Anything more to add to what he just confessed, because I didn't think I had to say anything else, the silence in the car grew and soon we were pulling into the familiar compound that I spent half of my childhood and teenage days in.
Nothing had changed, it still looked the same, and it made this nostalgic feeling to settle in the pit of my stomach, bringing back the anxiety my talk with Luke had pushed back
