The moment Adriano mentioned Stefano calling, a smile automatically pulled up my face, it's been a while I heard from him, the last time I did, he told me he was having a meeting with Spade and that he'd call me back, but I didn't get his call back.
I walked towards the Adriano, he still had my phone in his hand, and he was frowning and looking from me to the phone screen.

He doesn't know who Stefano is, I've never told him about Stefano, it's not because I don't think it's important, it just never came up.
I took the phone from him and answered the call, pulling the phone to my ear.
"Hey Stef" I rushed out

"Hey buddy, it's been a while" he answered almost immediately "what's up, I said I was going to call you back the other, but I didn't, I'm so sorry I just got busy" he added quickly, and I just snorted out, using my hand to flip him off.

"Come on, it's okay, I would have called you on my own, I've just really had a lot on my plate" I muttered out to him, I shoved my hand into my pocket and paced back and forth Adriano's living room, I could feel his eyes on me, even though he was still eating, more like picking on his food.

"So how's Alicia and mom"? He asked and I smiled, liking the way he still referred to my mom as mom, Stefano had always been a part of our family, and I'm glad all those years apart didn't change anything.

"They're fine, just a little extra, they're getting on my nerves these days, especially mom, with the whole you and I dating thing" I muttered out to him, he just burst out laughing, causing me to smile, I'm glad we can talk about this without any of us feeling weird about it.

"She's still on that with you"? He asked and I chuckled out

"Yes Stef, she is"

"Maybe one day I'm going to bring Matteo over, or have her talk to him on the phone, so she'll know that you and I dating, is out of the picture, thinking about it is absurd as fuck, ewwww, you're like a brother to me, I can't date you" he rushed out, causing me to snort and roll my eyes at him.

"Okay, okay, that's enough, you don't have to be extra too" I rushed out and he just started chuckling, I smiled

"You know I've missed you right"? He asked and I smiled again, of course I know, I've missed him too.

"I know buddy, and trust me, I've missed you too" I whispered out, with a heavy sigh, I heard shuffling in the background, before I heard Matteo's voice

'who are you missing when I'm sitting just a few feet away from you, are you cheating on me'? I heard Matteo ask in the background, I chuckled out

"Relax tiger, it's Luke" Stefano muttered out to him, I rolled my eyes and chuckled out lightly, Matteo, ever so jealous, even though deep down he knows he own Stefano, body and soul.
"That was Matteo, he's being his typical self again” Stefano muttered over the phone, I just chuckled because I know what Stefano meant by he's being his typical self again "I just called to check up on you buddy, I'll call you later okay"? He asked and I nodded

"Okay, my regard to Matteo, even though I know he's probably going to ask you to tell me to fuck off" I muttered out, earning a light chuckle from Stefano, before the line went dead, I smiled and shook my head, pulling the phone away from my ear.

I shoved my phone into my pocket and smiled again, I'm not going to lie, I do miss Stefano, and even though Matteo wouldn't hear the last of it, I miss him too, in general, I miss New York.
I shook my head and looked up my eyes meeting with Adriano's, he was picking at his food, his eyes trained at me intently, I frowned, the way he was staring at me was weird, his gaze was piercing and dark.
