Luke

I stood frozen in the doorway staring at Spade as he stared at me back, what is he doing here?
I furrowed my brows before I realized that I should say something.
"Spade" I rushed out, letting out a deep breath" what are you doing here, I mean how.... " He cocked his brows at me

"Are you going to let me in"? He asked and I smiled nervously, before stepping out of the way for him

"Sure, come in" I rushed out, he stepped into the house, his eyes darting around every part of the living room, I closed the door, my mind still in a fix, what the hell is Spade doing here?
How did he even find this place, so many questions running through my head at once as I stood in front of him.

"Not that I'm complaining but what are you doing here"? I asked and he just turned to look at me, his face stoic, it kind of intimidated me, because all the times I've been around Spade, he hasn't looked at me like this, making me wonder if the text I had sent to Nate refusing his invitation, had somehow made Spade mad.

He opened his mouth to answer but Adriano's voice stopped him
"Babe, who are you talking to"? He asked, his footsteps echoing through the house as he came down the stairs, I bit my lips and shut my eyes tight "o" I heard him mutter out, and when I turned to look at him, he had his eyes on Spade, he was staring at him, a lot of questions dancing in his eyes, I could see the way Spade was looking at him, with this emotionless expression on his face, his eyes raked through Adriano's body, and in that moment I could smell the tension in the air, I don't know what's going on in Adriano's mind, but I know what's going on in Spade's mind.

Adriano made his way towards me, and swiftly wrapped his hand around my waist, pulling me closer to him, I don't know why but I suddenly felt weird standing in front of Spade, while Adriano was all handsy with me, I wanted to shrug his hand off, but I couldn't
"We haven't met before" he started, his attention now on Spade, Spade just hummed, his jaws clenched and his hand still shoved inside his pocket "I'm Adriano" Adriano muttered out, his confident self surfacing again.

Spade didn't say anything, he didn't introduce himself back, instead he just stared at Adriano with a blank look, I wanted the ground to open and just swallow me right now, because the tension in the room could blow up an entire country.

I felt Adriano's hand around my waist, clutch to me even tighter than before, his nails digging into my skin, I could feel it from the fabric of my shirt.
I looked at him and he was smiling, but on a closer look, his jaw was clenched tight, and I could tell he was irritated, but Adriano knows how to smile through anything, so he just smacked his lips, and looked at me
"I have to go now, but I will call you later okay" he rushed out, before he leaned in and kissed me on the lips, it took longer than I expected, it wasn't just a peck or a chaste kiss, it was deep and intense, and I could feel what Adriano was trying to do, he was marking his territory.

He finally pulled away and smiled at me cheekily, before he picked up his car keys, he gave Spade one last look, before he walked out of the house, leaving a very tense atmosphere in his wake.
I sighed out heavily, now looking at Spade, who stood watching me, observing me

He suddenly cocked his brows up at me, causing me to frown "babe"? He asked and I just bit my lips, none of them know about Adriano, I've never told any of them, not even Stefano, so I can understand why he'll be shocked meeting Adriano here and finding out that we're together.
"Is he the reason you told Nate you wouldn't be able to come to New York"? He asked and I sighed out and shook my head.

"Spade...." He cut me off, taking a step close to me

"I don't usually go around following people or begging them to do things for me, that's not who I am, but I'm doing this for Nate, for some reason, my fiance has taken a liking to you, even more than I do" he explained, causing me to swallow hard.
"Luke, I don't know why you sent that text to Nate, but he was really looking forward to having you at the engagement party, and I promised him that I would make sure you attend, and when I promise Nate, I never disappoint him" he muttered out, his voice holding this finality that make me understand that he wasn't leaving room for me to oppose, but he should understand that I can't go to New York.
