I excused myself from Adriano and made my way towards Spade, he seemed to be completely out of it, he wasn't contributing to any conversation going on in the room, he was just drinking and watching everyone, I stopped beside him, resting my hand on the counter "are you missing your fiance that much"? I asked and he just turned his gaze to me, giving me a very blank look, before he pulled his drink up to his lips, taking a sip of it.

Instead of answering my question, he sighed out and looked back into the living room "how much do you know about him"? He asked, and I frowned before I followed his gaze, and it was set on Adriano

"Who? Adriano"? I asked and he nodded "enough to know that I like him, and he makes me happy, why do you ask"? I asked and he just shrugged, looking away from Adriano, I frowned knowing it wasn't just nothing, after almost five days of us being here, he's just suddenly asking about Adriano, why the sudden interest in Adriano?
"You did a background check on him didn't you"? I asked and he just looked at me, his eyes telling me he did do a background check on Adriano, and he wasn't even trying to hide it.

"I invited him to my house, I wouldn't do that if I didn't do a background check on him, it's nothing personal, just protocol" he muttered out, I sighed out and nodded, I do understand that before he could invite Adriano here, he must have done a thorough background check on him
"Don't you want to know what i found"? He asked, looking at me intently, I looked at him, before I teared my gaze away from him and looked at Adriano, he was sitting on the couch, on his phone, while Stefano and Matteo were whispering to each other.

I felt like telling Spade to give me what he saw on Adriano, but I didn't want to get to know him like that, the way we were going, it was taking longer, but I was getting to know him on his own terms, I don't want to read about him anywhere, even though I'm curious as hell to know everything there is to know about Adriano, I don't want it to be on a piece of paper.

I looked back at Spade and shook my head "I'm tempted to ask you about it, but... If I want to know about him, I'll just ask him, I don't want to read about him on a piece of paper, I don't want to know what a PI thinks of my boyfriend, I want to hear it from him, so whatever information you got about him on the background check, I think I'd rather you just keep it" I muttered out, and I watched Spade nod at me slowly before he looked back at Adriano

"He's lucky to have you" he whispered out, and I bit my lips and looked at Adriano, he's not lucky to have me, I think I'm the one that's lucky to have him, I don't deserve someone like him, but here I am.

We just stayed in silence before Spade got up, tapping my lightly on the upper am "Nate's waiting for me, I should retire for the night, you can stay here if you want" he muttered out, I just nodded before he walked away from me and headed out of the mansion.

Adriano got up from the couch and made his way to me, he stopped in front of me and wrapped his hand around my waist, pulling me up close to him
"What's up" he muttered, immediately drawing lines on my hip
"Do you want to get out here" he whispered but I just bit my lips and sighed out

"Spade said we could stay if we want, do you want to stay"? I asked and he just shrugged

"Do you"? He asked and I shrugged back, he chuckled out lightly "this place is fucking huge, do you want to give me a tour"? He asked and I smiled before I nodded, I've been here a few times before, so I think I know a lot of places here that he might like, he pulled his hands from my hip and wrapped his hand around my hand, intertwining our fingers.

I led us both through the living room, Matteo seemed to be fast asleep, while Stefano stroked his hair, without alerting them, I led Adriano up the stairs, we could check out the gym, Adriano has never hinted to going to the gym, but I know he does, you can't have such a perfect body without hitting the gym constantly.
