The dorm was quiet in the early hours of the morning. Beomgyu sat on the edge of his bed, eyes bleary, his head heavy with exhaustion that refused to fade. The thyroid medication he was supposed to be taking regularly lay untouched on his nightstand. Since their comeback preparations had begun, his mornings had been a blur of quick showers and rushed breakfasts, every minute carefully rationed to make it to the studio on time. He didn't feel like he had the time to think about the pills — or his health.

"Just push through," he muttered to himself, forcing his mind back to their upcoming performance. Comeback season meant a packed schedule: back-to-back dance practices, vocal training, interviews, and more. They had all worked so hard on this new album, and he wanted to give it his all. But recently, everything seemed just a little harder.

His steps felt heavier than usual as he moved toward the kitchen, where Taehyun and Soobin were already making coffee. They greeted him cheerfully, and Beomgyu mustered his usual bright smile, hoping they wouldn't notice how tired he felt. As long as he kept smiling and joking, maybe they'd overlook the slight tremor in his hands, the dark circles under his eyes, the weight he felt pressing on him every time he tried to catch his breath.

"Hey, Gyu," Soobin said, glancing at him with a raised eyebrow. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just... tired. You know, comeback life," Beomgyu replied with a forced laugh, shrugging off the question. Soobin nodded, but his gaze lingered for a moment too long before he turned back to his coffee. Beomgyu could feel the weight of Soobin's concern, but he brushed it off. He wasn't about to let a little tiredness hold him back, not when he'd worked this hard to stand on stage.

They made their way to the company building for another long day of rehearsals. As the day wore on, Beomgyu found himself increasingly breathless, his head starting to pound from fatigue. During dance practice, he faltered slightly, missing a beat in the choreography. No one said anything, but he caught a few sidelong glances from his members, as if they were noticing the little slips he was so desperately trying to hide.

"Yo, you okay?" Yeonjun asked, coming up beside him during a short break. Beomgyu flashed a grin, hoping to distract him.

"Yeah, just... I think I didn't sleep enough," he said, avoiding eye contact. He took a long drink of water, hoping to clear the fog in his head. Yeonjun didn't push further, but Beomgyu caught the flash of worry on his face as he walked away.

Days passed in a similar blur. Beomgyu poured all his energy into practice, convinced he could keep up if he just tried hard enough. But the exhaustion only deepened, his throat feeling perpetually dry, his muscles sore in a way he couldn't quite shake. The members noticed. They watched him carefully, their quiet concern visible in every small gesture: Taehyun offering him extra water bottles, Huening Kai pulling him aside to rest during breaks, Soobin sometimes leading him through stretches before practice.

They were waiting, he realized. They were waiting for him to say something, to admit that something was wrong. Beomgyu's stubborn pride kept him silent, determined not to appear weak or distracted. He could handle this. He had to handle this. There was no time to stop, no time to rest.

But one night, during vocal training, his resolve began to crack. His voice faltered mid-note, a sharp pain searing through his throat, and he found himself coughing, struggling to catch his breath. The instructor looked at him with concern, but Beomgyu waved it off, catching the worried glances from his members out of the corner of his eye. He could feel his own strength slipping, a nagging reminder of his neglected medication tugging at his mind, but he forced the thought away.

That night, back at the dorm, Beomgyu collapsed onto his bed, his body aching in ways he hadn't experienced before. As he lay there, staring up at the ceiling, he felt a pang of frustration and regret. Maybe he should have been more careful, should have taken his health more seriously. But he couldn't bear the thought of letting the others down, not now, not with the comeback so close.
