During Seventeen's busy schedule, with promotions and performances back-to-back, Jihoon began feeling unwell. At first, he brushed it off, thinking it was just fatigue from the intense work, late-night practices, and endless meetings. But soon, the subtle ache turned into a fever, and he found it harder to concentrate. The members noticed, with Soonyoung and Mingyu the first to spot the change, as Jihoon was unusually quiet and reserved during rehearsals.
As the day wore on, Jihoon's condition got worse. By the afternoon, he was pale and shivering, despite the warmth of the practice room. When he finally leaned against the wall for support, Seungcheol called a pause and approached him.
"Jihoon, you don't look well. You should rest," Seungcheol said firmly, his tone leaving little room for argument.
"But we still have the performance on Saturday," Jihoon protested weakly, always focused on keeping things on track.
Before he could protest further, Jeonghan gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll be fine for a bit without you. Your health matters more," he said softly.
The members quickly rallied around him, each doing their best to help in their own way. Seungcheol and Joshua supported Jihoon on either side, guiding him carefully to the van to head back to the dorm. Mingyu went ahead to make sure Jihoon's room was comfortable, while Seokmin and Vernon went out to buy medicine and soup.
When Jihoon finally made it back, he was too exhausted to argue anymore. The members tucked him in with blankets, made sure he had medicine, and took shifts to keep an eye on him. Minghao even brewed some herbal tea his family used for fevers, and Woozi managed a tired smile, touched by all the care.
That night, while Jihoon rested, the members took turns keeping him company. They spent the evening quietly, respecting his need for rest, but their presence was enough to keep Jihoon comforted. By the next morning, he woke feeling slightly better, though still groggy.
For the rest of the week, the members made sure he took it easy. They handled extra rehearsals while Jihoon supervised as much as his energy allowed, making sure his vision for the performance stayed intact.
And by the time Saturday's performance arrived, Jihoon was back on his feet, grateful for his friends, who had made sure he was taken care of, supporting him just as he'd done for them countless times.
