900 words.

Yeonjun had always been the type to push himself beyond his limits. With both his solo comeback and the group's comeback happening back-to-back, his schedule was brutal. Early mornings bled into sleepless nights filled with dance practices, recording sessions, and endless meetings. He barely had time to eat, let alone rest.

At first, the exhaustion was manageable — just a dull ache in his limbs, an occasional yawn between rehearsals. But soon, the warning signs started piling up.

The dizziness came first. It would hit him at random moments, making the room spin during choreography. He'd blink it away, pretend it wasn't happening. Then came the chest pain — a tight, suffocating pressure that would flare up whenever he pushed himself too hard. But he ignored that too.

"Just a little longer," he told himself. "Once the promotions are over, I can rest."

But the members noticed.

Soobin was the first to say something. One evening after practice, when Yeonjun stumbled slightly while walking to grab his water bottle, Soobin caught his arm.

"You okay?" he asked, concern written all over his face.

"Yeah, just tired," Yeonjun brushed it off with a weak smile.

But Soobin wasn't convinced. Neither were the others.

Beomgyu had seen him zoning out mid-dance, his steps losing their usual sharpness. Taehyun noticed how he gripped his chest when he thought no one was looking. Even Huening Kai, who always tried to stay optimistic, was starting to get worried.

"You've been pushing too hard," Taehyun said one night when they were in the dorm. "You need to slow down, hyung."

Yeonjun let out a short laugh. "I'm fine. It's just a busy time, you know how it is."

Beomgyu crossed his arms. "No, you're not fine. You barely sleep, you're forgetting to eat, and you look like you're about to pass out half the time."

Yeonjun sighed, feeling a flicker of irritation. "I can handle it."

Huening Kai hesitated before softly adding, "Hyung... we just don't want you to get hurt."

Their words should have made him feel supported, but instead, they felt suffocating. He knew they meant well, but to him, it sounded like they were doubting him — like they thought he wasn't strong enough.

And then, the next day at practice, it all boiled over.

They had stopped rehearsal midway, the tension thick in the air. Soobin had finally snapped.

"This isn't normal, Yeonjun. You're not okay, and you need to stop acting like you are!"

That was the breaking point.

Yeonjun, already exhausted and frustrated, lashed out.

"I'm fine! Why do you all keep acting like I'm some fragile kid who can't take care of himself? Just leave me alone and focus on yourselves instead of hovering over me all the time!"

Silence filled the room. The members exchanged hurt glances before backing off.

And then, they started ignoring him.

At first, Yeonjun welcomed it. No more nagging, no more lectures. But as the days passed, the distance between them became unbearable. The dorm felt quieter, meals lonelier. They still worked together, still performed together, but the warmth was gone.

And it was all his fault.

Yet, he couldn't bring himself to fix it. He pretended it didn't bother him. But deep down, the guilt gnawed at him, making his already deteriorating condition worse. His head felt heavier each day, his body weaker, but he refused to show it.

Then, the night before the concert, his fever spiked. He felt like he was burning up, but he told no one. He had come this far—he wouldn't let a little fever stop him.

The concert started, and for most of it, Yeonjun held it together. The adrenaline masked the pain, the cheers of the fans gave him strength. But towards the end, the exhaustion caught up to him. His vision blurred, his breath came in ragged gasps, and before he could react, his body gave out.

He collapsed.

Luckily, it happened in a dark moment between songs, just before the final bow. The fans didn't notice, but the members did. Panic surged through them as they rushed to his side. Soobin was the first to kneel beside him, shaking his shoulder.

"Yeonjun? Hey! Wake up!"

His skin was burning. His breaths were shallow. The guilt hit them all at once.

They had been so caught up in their own hurt that they hadn't realized just how much he was suffering.

After the concert, Yeonjun was immediately rushed to the hospital. The doctor confirmed what they feared—severe exhaustion, dehydration, and a dangerously high fever. The members sat by his bedside, regret written all over their faces.

When Yeonjun finally woke up, his voice was weak. "The concert... did we finish?"

Beomgyu let out a small, broken laugh. "Yeah, you idiot. But you scared us half to death."

Soobin sighed, rubbing his temples. "We should've been there for you, even when you pushed us away. We're sorry, Yeonjun."

Yeonjun swallowed, guilt weighing heavy in his chest. "No... I'm the one who should be sorry. I shouldn't have taken it out on you guys."

Taehyun crossed his arms, his voice firm but warm. "You're not alone, Yeonjun. You never were."

Huening Kai smiled softly. "So let's take care of each other, okay?"

For the first time in weeks, Yeonjun felt lighter. He had been so focused on carrying everything alone that he had forgotten he didn't have to.

As he drifted back to sleep, surrounded by his members, he knew one thing for sure—he would never make the mistake of pushing them away again
