The shared practice room was buzzing with energy as all 23 members of NCT gathered for a full-group rehearsal. It wasn't often that all the members practiced together, and the logistical chaos was enough to test anyone's patience.
The cracks began to show during the choreography for Beautiful. With so many members, synchronization was difficult. Jisung missed his cue for the second time, which led to grumbles from several members.
Haechan was the first to speak up, his tone sharp: "Jisung, can you focus? We've been over this a hundred times."
"I am focusing!" Jisung snapped back, already on edge.
"Maybe if you spent less time sulking and more time practicing, we wouldn't have to fix your mistakes," Doyoung added, his frustration spilling over.
Kun tried to mediate, raising his hands. "Let's not blow this out of proportion. Everyone's tired."
But Taeyong, already stressed from coordinating the massive rehearsal, cut him off. "Tired isn't an excuse. We need to get this right. Jisung, if you're not ready, step aside and let someone else take over."
The comment hit Jisung like a punch to the gut. "Why does it always come back to me? I'm not the only one who's made mistakes today!" he shouted, his voice shaking.
"Oh, so now it's our fault?" Yuta interjected, folding his arms. "You've been dragging everyone down for weeks, and we've all been too nice to call you out on it."
"Nice?!" Jisung's face flushed with anger. "You all treat me like I'm invisible unless you need someone to blame! Do any of you even care about me?"
The room erupted into chaos
Mark stepped forward, trying to reason with both sides. "Guys, stop! This isn't helping!"
"Easy for you to say," Hendery shot back. "You're always the peacemaker, but you never take responsibility for anything either."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Mark's voice rose, his calm demeanor cracking.
From there, the argument spiraled. Accusations flew across the room, with grievances bubbling to the surface from every corner. WayV clashed with NCT 127 over scheduling conflicts. NCT Dream members felt overlooked and dismissed as "kids" by the older groups. Even within the sub-units, tensions flared.
"You think it's hard being Dream? Try being WayV and having to prove yourself every single day!" Ten snapped, his voice cutting through the noise.
"And what about 127?" Johnny retorted. "We've been carrying the weight of NCT's reputation since the beginning. You think we don't feel the pressure?"
Jaemin, who had been quiet until now, turned to the Dream members. "Maybe if you guys actually stood up for Jisung instead of leaving him to fend for himself, this wouldn't have happened."
"We tried! But he doesn't even talk to us anymore!" Renjun shouted, glaring at Jisung.
Jisung, overwhelmed, shouted back, "Because you all act like I'm a burden! I can't take it anymore!"
The tension reached a boiling point. Yuta stepped forward, his voice icy. "If you can't handle this, maybe you shouldn't be here at all."
That was it. Jisung, unable to hold back, swung at Yuta. The punch missed, but the intent was clear. Chaos erupted. Members shoved each other, voices rose to shouts, and fists flew. Mark and Taeyong tried to pull people apart, but even they couldn't stop the storm.
