The dorms had been tense for weeks. With SEVENTEEN's comeback approaching, every member felt the weight of expectations. The stress was affecting everyone, but Jihoon and Soonyoung were bearing the heaviest loads. Jihoon had been holed up in the studio, pouring over compositions, edits, and mixes, barely getting any sleep. Meanwhile, Soonyoung had spent endless hours perfecting choreography, pushing himself and the others to exhaustion.

It was after an especially grueling practice session, one late night, that things finally reached a breaking point. They'd been rehearsing for hours, and fatigue hung heavy over everyone. Jihoon noticed a slight misstep in Soonyoung's moves and, driven by exhaustion, let his frustration slip out.

"Can we just get this right?" Jihoon's voice was sharp, irritation plain in his tone. "I've already told you this part needs to change."

Soonyoung stopped mid-step, the tiredness in his eyes replaced with a flash of anger. "Are you serious? I've been working on this all day. Maybe if you actually listened to what I'm saying..."

Jihoon didn't back down, his own irritation bubbling to the surface. "Listening? I'm the one fixing everything while you're throwing out ideas that don't work. This isn't just about you, Soonyoung!"

"Fixing things? You're not fixing anything, you're just criticizing everything I do!" Soonyoung fired back, his voice rising. The rest of the members looked on, feeling the tension escalate but unsure how to intervene.

The argument grew louder, both of them stepping closer, too angry to hold back. Soonyoung's frustration erupted, and he gave Jihoon a hard shove. Jihoon stumbled back, caught off guard, but quickly regained his balance, his face hardening. Without thinking, he stepped forward and shoved Soonyoung back, harder than before.

"What's your problem?" Jihoon spat, his fists clenched.

"My problem?" Soonyoung's voice was raw with anger. "You are! You think you're better than everyone, locking yourself away in that studio..."

Before he could finish, Jihoon took a swing. His fist connected with Soonyoung's shoulder, and Soonyoung's face twisted in shock and anger. Without hesitation, Soonyoung swung back, hitting Jihoon's arm. The impact sent a jolt through both of them, but neither stopped.

The scuffle quickly turned more intense, neither of them willing to back down. Jihoon landed another hit to Soonyoung's side, and Soonyoung, fueled by frustration, retaliated with a punch that grazed Jihoon's cheek. The hit left a sharp sting, and Jihoon's jaw tightened in pain. Bruises were starting to form on both of them, but they were too caught up in their anger to notice.

The other members were stunned, frozen for a moment as the two continued trading hits. It wasn't until Seungcheol broke from his shock and jumped in, pulling Jihoon back by the shoulders, that the fight came to a halt.

"Stop it! Both of you!" Seungcheol's voice was harsh as he held Jihoon firmly, keeping him from lunging forward again. Mingyu grabbed Soonyoung, gently restraining him as well.

Jihoon and Soonyoung both panted, their chests heaving, their faces flushed with anger and exhaustion. Jihoon's cheek was already reddening into a bruise, and Soonyoung winced as he clutched his shoulder, feeling the sting of Jihoon's punch.

"You two are done for the night," Seungcheol said, his voice filled with disappointment. "Go cool off."

Without another word, Jihoon yanked himself free from Seungcheol's grip and stormed out of the practice room. Soonyoung shrugged Mingyu off and left in the opposite direction, slamming the door behind him.

The rest of SEVENTEEN stood in silence, watching as the two disappeared. A heavy feeling settled over them—this wasn't just a disagreement, it was a fracture that felt deep, and it left everyone unsure of how long it would take to heal.

From that day on, Jihoon and Soonyoung barely acknowledged each other. Jihoon retreated to his studio, burying himself in work, while Soonyoung isolated himself in the practice room, running through choreography until his feet were sore. The dorms felt different without their usual dynamic.

Even small things felt off: the meals were quieter, and there was a constant tension hanging in the air. Members exchanged worried glances but didn't know how to bridge the gap between Jihoon and Soonyoung.

Seungcheol tried talking to each of them, but neither seemed willing to open up. They'd both become shadows in the dorm, so focused on avoiding each other that they were barely around anyone else.

"Has anyone seen Jihoon today?" asked Jeonghan one evening as they gathered for dinner.

"He's locked up in the studio again," Joshua replied with a sigh. "And Soonyoung's been in the practice room since morning. They've both barely slept."

The members shared uneasy glances. They knew how driven both Jihoon and Soonyoung were, but seeing them wear themselves down out of stubbornness was starting to worry them. Mingyu suggested an intervention, but Seungcheol shook his head. "They'll come around... they just need time," he said, though he didn't sound entirely convinced.

As days turned into weeks, the strain only grew. Both Jihoon and Soonyoung were running on fumes, each too proud to reach out to the other, each waiting for the other to apologize first.

One evening, Jihoon finally decided to head home. He'd spent countless hours in his studio, but the music wasn't coming to him the same way it used to. Everything he produced felt off. Even he could see that his exhaustion was affecting his work. As he left the studio, a feeling of guilt gnawed at him.

On a whim, he stopped by the practice room, wondering if Soonyoung might be there. Peeking in, he found Soonyoung lying on the floor, drained, eyes closed. His headphones were still on, but he looked completely worn out.

Jihoon's heart sank. He knew how dedicated Soonyoung was, but seeing him so exhausted struck a chord. Gently, he knocked on the door. Soonyoung's eyes fluttered open, and he sat up, visibly surprised to see Jihoon.

They sat in silence for a moment, neither knowing how to begin. Finally, Jihoon took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry, Soonyoung," he said quietly. "I... I know I was harsh. I shouldn't have snapped like that."

Soonyoung lowered his gaze, his expression softening. "No, I'm sorry too. I was just so frustrated... and tired. But that wasn't an excuse for how I acted."

They sat in silence, letting the weight of their words sink in. For the first time in weeks, the tension between them lifted. They talked late into the night, sharing their frustrations and admitting how the stress had been weighing on them both. They both felt a sense of relief, as if a weight had been lifted.

The next morning, the rest of SEVENTEEN gathered in the kitchen, preparing for another day. But as the members trickled in, they were in for a surprise. Jihoon and Soonyoung walked in together, chatting casually.

"Good morning!" Soonyoung greeted everyone cheerfully, as if nothing had happened. Jihoon offered a small smile, nodding at the members.

The others exchanged looks of surprise, not quite believing what they were seeing. After weeks of tension, Jihoon and Soonyoung's friendship seemed fully restored.

Seungcheol pulled the two aside, a smile spreading across his face. "You two... finally worked it out?"

Jihoon and Soonyoung glanced at each other, each giving a small nod. They'd found their way back to their usual, supportive rhythm, and everyone could feel it.

As the day went on, the entire group felt a renewed sense of energy. Jihoon returned to the studio with new ideas, and Soonyoung led the team through practice with his usual enthusiasm. With Jihoon and Soonyoung back to their old selves, SEVENTEEN felt whole again.
