Renjun was determined to give his best for NCT's comeback with "Black on Black." The choreography was intense, full of powerful moves and intricate synchronization, but he loved every second of rehearsal. As a diabetic, Renjun knew he needed to be careful: he began practice by checking his blood sugar and drinking a sugary juice to keep his levels steady.
Hours flew by as the group worked through the complex choreography, refining each movement with focus and energy. At first, Renjun checked his blood sugar regularly, but as he got swept up in the rhythm and adrenaline, he began to forget. Gradually, he felt himself getting tired and slightly dizzy, but he pushed through, too absorbed in the practice to stop.
Chenle, who was dancing nearby, started to notice something was off. Renjun looked increasingly pale, and his movements seemed less precise, as if he was struggling to stay focused. Concerned, Chenle approached him during a break.
Chenle: "Renjun, you're looking a bit pale... have you checked your blood sugar recently?"
Renjun tried to smile, a bit embarrassed, but he knew Chenle was right. He glanced down and admitted quietly:
Renjun: "I... kind of forgot. I was so focused that I didn't think about it."
Without hesitating, Chenle placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and signaled to Jungwoo, who had also noticed Renjun's condition. Together, they encouraged him to take a break and check his levels. Jungwoo pulled out a bottle of juice he had brought just in case and handed it to Renjun.
Jungwoo: "Here, drink this. It's totally okay to take a break, especially if it means you'll feel better."
Grateful, Renjun drank the juice, feeling his strength gradually returning. Chenle stayed by his side, watching closely to make sure he was alright.
Chenle: "We wouldn't be a real team if we didn't look out for each other. You don't need to push yourself to the limit alone. We're here for you, Renjun."
With Chenle and Jungwoo's help, Renjun took a moment to breathe and regain his energy before returning to practice. This time, he felt confident knowing his friends were looking out for him, just as he would for them. With their support, he finished the rehearsal feeling both stronger and safer.
As the day wrapped up, Renjun smiled at his friends, grateful. "Black on Black" wasn't just a stunning group performance; it was an experience that reminded him they were a team, ready to support each other through every challenge ahead.
