1300 wordsSoobin had always been the heart of TXT, a leader whose dedication to his members was unwavering. As the group prepared for their highly anticipated comeback, Soobin was filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety. He knew how much this moment meant to all of them, especially after months of hard work.
The comeback was met with massive attention, but as the days passed, something unsettling began to happen. Negative comments started flooding their social media platforms, and soon, the hate escalated to a concerning level. Soobin stayed up late most nights, scrolling through the endless barrage of cruel words directed at him and his members. What had started as a few harsh comments snowballed into a torrent of vicious attacks.
The situation grew worse when death threats began appearing in their inboxes. Soobin's heart pounded every time he read a new threat, each one more chilling than the last. Some were vague, but others detailed times and places, and Soobin couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was looming over them.
He tried to stay strong for the group, but the fear gnawed at him. He could see the strain on his members' faces too. The group chat, once filled with jokes and shared memes, now had moments of tense silence as each member dealt with the growing negativity in their own way.
Yeonjun had always been the confident one, the member who could brush off criticism with a cocky smile. But even he found it hard to ignore the flood of hate they were receiving. Late at night, when the others were asleep, he would scroll through the comments, each word cutting deeper than the last. The death threats were the worst. They weren't just directed at the group but at him individually. "We'll get you first, Yeonjun," one had read. He didn't want to show his fear, but it lingered in his mind, a shadow he couldn't shake.
Beomgyu found it hard to keep up his playful facade. His jokes felt forced, his laughter hollow. The fans had always been his safe space, a source of energy and love, but now even that was tainted. He started to withdraw, spending more time in his room, headphones on, trying to drown out the noise with music. But the fear crept in, and he couldn't escape the feeling that they were being watched, hunted.
Taehyun handled the hate in silence. He didn't like to burden the others with his worries, but the constant threats weighed heavily on him. He found himself waking up in the middle of the night, heart racing, after dreaming about the messages they received. He started double-checking the locks in their dorm, his paranoia growing with each passing day. He could see the fear in his members' eyes and felt helpless, unable to protect them from something so intangible yet so dangerous.
Hueningkai was perhaps the most visibly affected. His innocence and optimism had always been his charm, but the threats had shattered that. He would jump at sudden noises, his bright smile now a rarity. He clung to the older members, seeking comfort in their presence, but even their reassurances felt weak against the onslaught of hate they faced. Every day felt like walking on a tightrope, unsure of when it would snap beneath them.
Soobin noticed it all. He knew he had to do something, but what could he do against an invisible enemy?
The weight of being their leader had never felt heavier.
Late at night, Soobin would sit in his room, thinking about how to protect them. He couldn't bear the thought of any harm coming to his members. They had worked too hard, sacrificed too much, to let these threats destroy them. But how could he shield them from an unseen enemy?
Despite the anxiety, they pressed on, maintaining their public smiles and completing their schedules. But the weight of the threats never left Soobin's mind. He was constantly alert, watching the crowds more carefully, scanning every face, every movement.
One day, on their way to the airport for an international schedule, the unthinkable happened.
A figure in the crowd lunged forward, a glint of silver catching Soobin's eye just moments before the knife made contact. Without hesitation, Soobin moved. His body acted on instinct, placing himself between the blade and his members. He felt the cold metal pierce his stomach, a searing pain shooting through his body. The world around him slowed.
Gasps, screams, chaos erupted in the terminal. Soobin staggered backward, clutching his stomach as blood began to seep through his fingers, darkening the fabric of his shirt. His legs gave out beneath him, and he collapsed to the floor, the noise of the crowd fading into a dull hum.
"Soobin!" Yeonjun's voice broke through the haze, raw with panic. The members rushed to Soobin's side, their faces contorted in horror.
Soobin tried to speak, to reassure them, but his strength was fading fast. The pain was unbearable, yet it paled in comparison to the fear in his members' eyes. He wanted to tell them it would be okay, that they would be safe now, but the words caught in his throat as darkness crept in at the edges of his vision.
The last thing he heard before losing consciousness was Taehyun's trembling voice calling his name.
The hospital became a second home for the members in the days that followed. Time lost all meaning as they sat by Soobin's bedside, their hearts heavy with guilt and worry. The sterile walls echoed with the beeping of machines that kept Soobin tethered to life, a reminder of how close they had come to losing him.
Beomgyu rarely left the room, his usually bright demeanor replaced with a somber silence. Hueningkai clung to Soobin's hand, whispering prayers through his tears. Yeonjun paced back and forth, anger and helplessness warring within him, while Taehyun sat quietly, his gaze never leaving Soobin's face, as if willing him to wake up.
"I should have seen it coming," Yeonjun muttered one night, his voice filled with self-recrimination. "I should have done something..."
"Hyung, none of us could have predicted this," Taehyun said softly, though his own voice was thick with emotion. "Soobin wouldn't want us to blame ourselves."
"But he's the one lying there, not us!" Yeonjun's voice cracked, his fists clenched at his sides.
Their leader, the one who always put them first, was now the one who needed them. And that realization only deepened their anguish.
Weeks passed in a blur of hospital visits and sleepless nights. Then, one evening, a miracle.
Soobin's fingers twitched.
The movement was so faint that at first, Hueningkai thought he had imagined it. But then, Soobin's eyelids fluttered, and slowly, ever so slowly, they opened. His gaze, though unfocused, landed on his members, and a weak smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
The room erupted in emotion. Beomgyu broke down in sobs, burying his face in his hands, while Yeonjun clutched Soobin's arm, his voice choked with relief. Taehyun's composure finally shattered, tears streaming down his face as he whispered, "Hyung... you're back..."
Soobin's voice was barely a whisper, but it was there, comforting and familiar. "I'm... sorry... for worrying you..."
"Don't you dare apologize," Yeonjun said, his voice thick. "You saved us, Soobin. You saved us..."
In the weeks that followed, the members took turns caring for Soobin, ensuring he had everything he needed. They hovered over him like protective siblings, their bond stronger than ever before. Slowly but surely, Soobin's strength returned, and with it, the light in their hearts.
What could have broken them instead became the foundation for an unbreakable unity. They faced the world together, stronger, more resilient, and forever grateful for the leader who had risked everything to protect them.
