@MalakMimi541Thanks for request. I hope you like it. The story will be with the members from 2021, I don't know the new members yet.
800 words. The practice room was buzzing with energy as NCT prepared for their Universe comeback. The sprawling group was divided into smaller units rehearsing their respective parts. Music blared through the speakers as choreography was refined with relentless precision.
Jisung stood toward the back of the formation, pushing himself hard to keep up with his older members. Sweat dripped down his face, but he ignored it, focusing instead on every beat, every step. He didn't want to fall behind.
"Let's run it one more time!" Taeyong called, his voice commanding yet encouraging. The group groaned, but no one complained; they knew perfection was expected.
The music started again, and everyone fell into formation. Jisung's legs felt heavier with each step, but he gritted his teeth and kept going. The room spun slightly, but he chalked it up to exhaustion. Suddenly, a sharp pain stabbed through his stomach, so intense that it made him stumble.
"Jisung, are you okay?" Jaemin asked, noticing the youngest falter.
"I'm fine," Jisung managed to mumble, waving him off. But before he could take another step, a sickening wave of nausea overcame him. He doubled over, and to everyone's horror, he vomited - dark red blood staining the pristine floor.
The music stopped abruptly, replaced by a chorus of panicked voices.
"JISUNG!" Renjun shouted, rushing to his side. The others crowded around, their faces pale with shock.
"Someone call an ambulance!" Johnny yelled, his usually calm demeanor cracking under the pressure.
"Give him space!" Doyoung urged, trying to keep the chaos under control. But the panic only deepened when Jisung swayed on his feet, his eyes rolling back before he collapsed to the floor.
Mark dropped to his knees beside Jisung, his hands trembling as he checked for a pulse. "He's breathing, but it's faint," he said, his voice breaking. "We need help now!"
Yuta grabbed his phone and dialed emergency services, barking instructions to the operator. Kun and Xiaojun knelt on either side of Jisung, trying to keep him comfortable.
"Jisung, stay with us," Kun pleaded softly, brushing the hair from the younger's sweat-soaked forehead.
"He's been pushing himself too hard," Chenle said, his voice shaking. "He's been looking pale for days. Why didn't we notice?"
"It's not your fault," Jungwoo said, though his own guilt was evident. "None of us saw this coming."
The members hovered anxiously as they waited for the ambulance. Haechan paced the room, his hands raking through his hair as he muttered, "Why did this happen? He's just a kid!"
Jaehyun placed a reassuring hand on Haechan's shoulder. "We'll figure it out. The most important thing is getting him help."
The ambulance arrived within minutes, though it felt like hours to the members. Jisung was carefully loaded onto a stretcher, with Mark and Taeyong insisting on riding with him to the hospital. The remaining members followed closely in their vans, a heavy silence hanging over them.
At the hospital, the group crowded into the waiting room, their worry etched on every face. Time crawled as they waited for news. Even the usually energetic members like Ten and Jeno were uncharacteristically quiet.
Finally, a doctor emerged. "Park Jisung's family?" she asked, looking at the anxious group.
"We're his family," Taeyong said without hesitation, stepping forward.
The doctor nodded. "He's stable for now, but we need to keep him under observation. It appears he has a condition called esophageal varices, which are swollen veins in the esophagus that can rupture and cause severe bleeding. It's often linked to underlying liver issues."
"Liver issues?" Shotaro echoed, his voice barely above a whisper. "How...?"
"It could be due to many factors - diet, stress, or even something genetic," the doctor explained. "Has he been showing signs of extreme fatigue or abdominal pain recently?"
"Yes," Renjun said quietly. "But he never complained. He didn't want to burden us."
The doctor's expression softened. "It's a good thing you brought him in when you did. With rest and proper treatment, he should recover, but he'll need to take it slow for a while."
When they were finally allowed to see Jisung, the members filed into his hospital room, their hearts aching at the sight of their youngest lying pale and frail in the bed.
"Hey, Jisungie," Jaemin said softly, sitting at his bedside. "You scared us back there."
"I'm sorry," Jisung croaked, his voice weak. "I didn't want to ruin practice."
"You're more important than practice, idiot," Mark said, his eyes red from crying. "You should've told us you weren't feeling well."
"I didn't want to hold anyone back," Jisung whispered.
"You're never holding us back," Taeyong said firmly. "We're a team. If one of us is struggling, we all are."
The room was filled with nods of agreement. Chenle reached out and took Jisung's hand. "From now on, you're not allowed to hide stuff like this from us. Promise?"
Jisung managed a small smile. "Promise."
The members stayed by Jisung's side for the rest of the night, their comeback preparations temporarily forgotten. They knew that no performance, no album, was worth more than the health and happiness of their youngest brother.
As Jisung drifted off to sleep, surrounded by his hyungs, he felt a warmth in his heart that no illness could ever take away.
