A/N : Starting in February, I'll be posting every two days — on odd-numbered days. Schoolwork has been taking up a lot of my time, and I want to make sure I can give my stories the attention they deserve. Thank you so much for understanding😊

1000 words.Changkyun had always prided himself on being strong. He knew what came with the job — fame, pressure, and criticism. But recently, the weight of it all seemed unbearable. Every time he logged onto social media, he was met with comments that chipped away at his self-esteem.
"Why is he even in Monsta X?"
"The group would be better without him."
"He's dragging them down."
(A/N: of course that's not true, he's so talented)At first, he ignored it. He told himself it was just a handful of people, that their words didn't matter. But the comments were relentless, and they echoed in his mind long after he closed the apps. It wasn't just online anymore; it felt like their voices followed him everywhere.
Changkyun began to scrutinize every part of himself. His rapping, his voice, his face, even his body. He couldn't unhear the words people said about him being "too bulky" or "too awkward." He hated mirrors now — they felt like enemies.
It started small: skipping meals here and there, blaming it on his busy schedule or not feeling hungry. No one noticed. They were all so busy, and he was good at hiding it. The hunger became a companion, a constant reminder that he could be better if he tried harder. Soon, skipping meals turned into days of barely eating anything substantial. His weight started to drop, but every time he saw himself, all he could focus on were the flaws.
The others didn't notice at first. Monsta X's schedule was always hectic, and Changkyun was naturally quiet and independent. If he seemed tired or distant, they chalked it up to long nights in the practice room or jet lag.
But Kihyun started to suspect something. Changkyun rarely joined them for meals anymore, and when he did, he barely touched his food. Kihyun tried to bring it up casually one night.
"You've been eating like a bird lately, Changkyun. Are you okay?"
Changkyun forced a smile. "Yeah, just not very hungry these days."
"Don't push yourself too hard," Kihyun said, giving him a pat on the shoulder. But the unease lingered in his mind.
As weeks turned into months, Changkyun's condition worsened. He was constantly exhausted, his movements slower, his energy drained. During rehearsals, he struggled to keep up, his body feeling too weak to execute the choreography he used to breeze through. Jooheon noticed how pale he looked, and Minhyuk commented on how loose his clothes were becoming.
"You've lost weight, man," Hyungwon said one day, trying to make it sound casual. "Are you on a diet or something?"
Changkyun shrugged. "Something like that."
The turning point came during a performance. They were in the middle of their set, the stage lights blazing, the fans screaming, when Changkyun suddenly stumbled. His vision blurred, and the next thing he knew, he was on his knees, struggling to catch his breath.
The music stopped. The other members rushed to his side, panic written all over their faces.
"Changkyun!" Shownu's voice was steady but full of concern. "What's wrong?"
"I'm fine," he muttered, trying to push them away. But his body betrayed him, too weak to stand on its own.
They canceled the rest of the performance and took him backstage. A doctor was called, and though Changkyun protested, he couldn't hide the truth anymore. His weight had plummeted dangerously, and his body was showing signs of severe malnutrition.
The others were furious — not at him, but at themselves for not noticing sooner.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Kihyun demanded, his voice cracking. "Why would you let it get this bad?"
"I didn't want to burden you," Changkyun whispered, tears streaming down his face. "You're all so talented, so perfect. I didn't want to drag you down anymore."
"Drag us down?" Joohoney said, kneeling beside him. "You're part of this team, Changkyun. We're nothing without you. How could you think otherwise?"
Changkyun broke down then, all the pain and insecurity pouring out. He told them about the hateful comments, the pressure to be better, the voice in his head that told him he wasn't enough.
"You should've come to us," Shownu said softly. "We're your brothers. We'd never let you face this alone."
From that day on, the members made it their mission to help Changkyun heal. They rallied around him, supporting him in every way they could. Minhyuk became his constant cheerleader, showering him with compliments to drown out the negativity. Hyungwon made it a point to sit with him at every meal, gently encouraging him to eat.
Kihyun started cooking for him, preparing meals that were both nutritious and comforting. "You don't have to finish it all," he'd say with a smile. "Just a little bit at a time."
Joohoney and Shownu made sure he wasn't overworking himself, insisting on breaks during rehearsals and reminding him that his health came first.
It wasn't easy. There were days when Changkyun felt like giving up, when the voice in his head was louder than the support around him. But the others never gave up on him. Slowly, he began to rebuild himself, both physically and emotionally.
One night, as they were all sitting together in their dorm, Changkyun looked around at his members. They were laughing, teasing each other over some silly game Minhyuk had brought home. For the first time in what felt like forever, he felt a sense of peace.
"Thank you," he said suddenly, his voice cutting through the chatter.
They all turned to him, confused.
"For not giving up on me," he continued, his eyes brimming with tears. "I don't know where I'd be without you guys."
Kihyun pulled him into a hug, and the others quickly joined in, creating a pile of warmth and love.
"Always," Shownu said. "We're family, Changkyun. You're stuck with us, whether you like it or not."
For the first time in months, Changkyun smiled — a real, genuine smile.
