4. T H E D I N N E R

I can't believe I have actually agreed for this. Right now I'm in my Mercedes benz waiting for my so called useless brothers and sisters so that we can attend the unwanted dinner.

Today was a hectic day and I really am tired. I just want to end this dinner quickly and then have a really good sleep.

"Let's go Dulhe Bhaiya!" Sasha squealed and Hafsa giggled with her as they settled in the backseat. I never knew I had another name! I glared at them through the rare view and they looked here and there acting all innocent.

"How am I looking?" Asim asked grinning wide as he opened the car door and stood there.

"Giant lizard!" Hafsa mumbled, loud enough to be heard. I stifled a laugh at the face he made.

"You know what Bhai! Few people can't just resist the urge to poke their long nose everywhere. Pinnochio!" He said mockingly looking straight into her eyes.

"Oh yeah! While people like you don't just poke their nose but poke their entire body! Hulk" she retorted back with the same tone.

I rolled my eyes, these people have always been like this, fighting with each other seizing every oppurtunity, while Sasha was enjoying the banters with an amusing look on her face.

"Enough you guys! Stop it right here or y'all will walk all the way till there". I said sternly and they sat back quitely not before making weird faces to each other.

The drive was filled with light chit chats and random talks. After driving for good 40 minutes, we reached KHAN mansion. Mom, Dad and Ahmed have already reached here. It's past 7 in the night.

It's been years since we last visited here, things seem unchanged. We were greeted by guards as we entered the main gate leading to the living area. The sight infront somehow warmed my heart. Dad and Asad uncle were talking with a constant smile on their face while Mom admired them.

As soon as they noticed our presence, Asad uncle got up and strode towards me.

"Assalamualaikum uncle!" I smiled and greeted him.

"Walaikumassalam beta! It feels good to see you here. How are you?" He asked putting his hand on my shoulder lovingly. Looks like he really missed us all these years! Anyways!

"Fine uncle! What about you?" I asked as he gestured all of us to enter.

"Yeah! Fine. Please sit". He smiled and talked to all of us Siblings one by one. Yasmin aunty also spoke to us, so this was the decision Mum was talking to her about.

Soon blabbering of a small kid echoed around the hall and heads snapped towards the direction. A man was holding a small girl dolled up beautifully and walking towards us. Wait! Is he Abbas. Damn! He has bulked up. I wonder how Inaya looks now- sshhh! Shut up I warned my thoughts and adored the beautiful father and daughter duo. Soon a woman joined behind him smiling gleefully, I think she's his wife. This little family looks beautiful and complete.

"Assalamualaikum." They greeted simultaneously and we greeted back. Abbas sat beside us, while his wife and daughter settled beside the women.

"How are you Ahad Bhai?" Abbas asked me with a tight lipped smile. I looked at him confused, He looks pissed and something didn't settle well here.

"Good! What about you? Looks like your hormones have taken a flight". I added teasingly.

"You yourself have bulked up. Do you eat whole protein molecules in your food". He teased and I chuckled. I really like his aura, calm and soothing. We tease each other like brothers everytime we meet.
