I N A Y A
I woke up to the sound of closing of a door and soft rustling of cloth. My eyes opened lazily and I glanced towards the side to find Ahad, spreading a prayer mat on the ground. I smiled as he stood up for the Tahajjud (late-midnight) prayer.
He didn't notice I was awake and began his prayers. I kept on looking at him as he rested his head in prostration. My eyes widened the slightest of it as I heard a muffled sob, a soft cry.
He stayed in sujood for almost five minutes, the room was silent and I could only hear his silent and low, whispered incoherent prayers.
I closed my eyes quickly, feigning sleep as he finished it. I could sense his footsteps coming closer and then I felt a warm blow of air over my face. He sat beside me, supplicated more and blowed it across my face three more times, making me smile involuntarily.
He, then placed a soft kiss on my forehead and I could hear the footsteps walking away. I slowly peeked through one eye and found him walking out of the room, he probably left for masjid.
I smiled and giggled to myself.
I was sure that my cheeks were all red by now... I covered the duvet up till my eyes and smiled more. And then I laughed, recalling how we had been yelling at each other last night, a sudden wave of embarrassment rushed through me, remembering how utterly illogical I had behaved..

I hadn't expected in my wildest dreams for him to Love me.. Well! He always does the unexpected.
He was focused on cooking something which looked like a gravy or a soup-hard to distinguish. I filled a glass of water for myself and sat on the counter, sipping it quietly.
"Do you have any allergies with mushrooms?" He asked out of the blue and I shook my head in a 'no', gulping the water.
"Are you cooking mushrooms?" I asked and he hummed.
The kitchen was silent, save for the boiling of the mushroom curry. I sat on the counter quietly, swinging my legs back and forth.
"Is breaking vases one of your hobbies?" I asked as I remembered how he had thrown it last night and earlier too, in the mansion.
"No it's not! They always appear infront of me whenever I'm angry, and become a victim". He chuckled, the voice oddly mesmerizing. I smiled and got down, "Let me help you!" I grinned and decided to make Rotis.
