A serpent twined around a pole.

The printout of a clearer image of the tattoo we had managed to find out was in front of me on the table as I scanned it.

The hospital reports were expected in three days from now! Ahmed was on it today.

Ina was in the room, collecting a few necessary documents she said she needed for work. Meanwhile, I was in the study as Ahmed told me he had some information to give.

Inaya walked in, all dressed to leave for work. I frowned, watching her in confusion because it was barely 8 in the morning.

"Your health isn't entirely well yet and you're leaving this early?" I asked, my tone dropping lower in concern.

"Yes! I need to finish the review today.. I'll meet you directly when we are back home in the evening!" She said and I just stared at her with a raised brow.

A small chuckle bubbled out of her, walking to me, she pressed a kiss to my forehead. "Trust me, I feel much better now! And yeah..." she grabbed my laptop, opening the mail as she continued, "Check these details from Hassan's deal I've sent you... He's considering a venture with you, go through it and let me know tonight, okay?"

I huffed under my breath, humming simply. Just when I picked the paper up to show her the image, she was already moving.

"Byeee! I Love you!" She yelled from the door, closing it behind her as she walked out.

I huffed out a small laugh, shaking my head as I mumbled, "Yeah! Love you more!"

The rest of the day, I was restless. Meetings followed by meetings, approving appointments and handling transactions in absence of Kaif was just too hectic.

That idiot was probably chilling somewhere under sunlight with his shades on.

And when the evening rolled by, I was back in the farmhouse, having a final look at today's schedule to see if I had missed something.

I hadn't found a moment of leisure to either text or dial her all day. She texted me around 2 pm, informing me not to forget the lunch.

I smiled to myself, settling down for the final task for today.

I spent the next hour scrolling through the documents Inaya had given me. The business deal was perfect-financially strong, strategically solid. But there was one problem. Hassan Raza.

I didn't know why but that instinct based sixth sense pricked me. Something was fishy. But I brushed it off, thinking it was just me being possessive because my wife called him her friend.

Once I was done with studying it, I dialed Mom and Dad, talking to them for a while before Inaya returned. They talked to her, my heart melting at how effortlessly she had entered and won over my family. Now ours.
