Assalamualaikum, and Hello, lovely people❤️
My warm regards to each one of you, because despite not having seen, met, or talked to most of you, you've become family.
You've known me more than I've known myself. And if you're surprised, yes, I'm being honest.
They always said "first book holds a very, very special place in the author's heart", and I really thought they were bluffing. I was like, "duh, come on. You write it, and you start a new one, what's special?"
And ask me now. God, don't even ask me now.
I've never been an expressive person, except for the times I've drowned into characters and they've poured their hearts out. So bear with me.
First of all, I express my immense gratitude, devote my entire fulfillment to The Almighty, Allah (SWT).
Words would never be enough to describe this love, this feeling.
When he found me in darkness, he guided me. And like he knew I needed writing, he guided me there. And the words I wrote, the characters I lived and penned, were or are nothing without his blessings and might.
I thank him for the understanding of art in my heart, for the forming words and worlds in my tiny little brain. Alhamdulillah, summa Alhamdulillah.
Secondly, I thank myself. For going through, for standing still when I couldn't go through. For living them, for crying, laughing, and blushing with them. I, someone who always believed that feeling too much was a curse, allowed myself to believe that feeling too much was a deeply underrated blessing. Because I saw the way world appeared whole lot different to me than many of its residents.
I thank my friends. My friends, my people, my comfort people.
For being my listener, when I couldn't stop rambling about the scenes, plots, and characters
For being my reviewer, reading my excerpts and fangirling over them like it was everything.
For being my support system when I was crumbling, my fellow author at times, and an honest guide towards rationality. (I can be too delulu sometimes)
For being my cheerleaders, my chaos partners, the people who never abandoned me and never complained of my craziness😂
I convey my deepest, and most heartfelt thanks to you all. To my lovely, beautiful readers.
You stumbled upon the book amongst millions of them on wattpad, and you've no idea how much it overwhelms me to know that there was something in here that made you stay. Something in here that made you vote, made you write something from your heart.
I love you all, for all the support, and all the love you gave to Ahad and Inaya.
Last, but definitely not the least, I thank Ahad, Inaya, and the crazy families. They've healed me more than they'd know (bcz *wipes tears* they don't exist)
They've made me familiar with my own mind and heart, eased my sorrows in ways I cannot explain.
For the past few days, I had been extremely overwhelmed. Because, I definitely didn't want to end the book. I couldn't imagine waking up and realising i didn't have to write them anymore. And that was the reason, i delayed the ending, I added as many scenes as I could.
But eventually, journeys end for new ones to begin.
"When fire meets ice" met me when I was at my lowest. I wrote it, merely to find an escape, but never had I imagined it to hold my heart like this.
And now I understand exactly what they meant when they said "first book will always hold a very special place in the author's heart."
Because this book will.
