Confusion.

It clouded my head, fogging my brain up until the point I couldn't think straight anymore.

Who was tracking me?

Every trick, trial and way to find out had been in vain. Ananya and her IT assistant had been working on it but nothing seemed to work.

"Have you talked to Ahmed?" Anu asked as I watched the boiling tea in front of me. I stirred it a little, mumbling, "No! He's returning today with the reports, hopefully! And he's already doing a lot, I can't burden him with this too!"

"That means we'll have the name of the man behind all this once the reports are here?" She asked, her tone urgent.

I sighed slowly because I wasn't sure of anything myself yet. "I don't know... Ahad is meeting him as I'm busy with site inspections today for our first motel!"

"Oh! I see... And did you meet Hassan? He's back..." She asked casually and I hummed, explaining to her everything about the deal. I couldn't really hear anything after that because my breath hitched when a pair of arms snaked around my waist from behind.

The familiar, faint, musky cologne filled my head, urging butterflies in my stomach.

"Oh damn! That's good! You two are business partners now!!" She exclaimed and I just hummed, my breaths unsteady as I was caged between him and the counter.

The distance didn't even exist.

His warm breath fanned over my neck as he grazed his nose along my jaw, smirking like he knew exactly what he was doing- urging me to suck in a sharp breath.

Idiot!

"Are you there, Inu?" I heard Anu call out, pulling me out of my reverie.

I shot him a glare before smacking his chest and he just smirked. "Y-yeah! Anything else..?" I managed a sentence with much difficulty as my breaths faltered.

Ahad's smirk widened, making my blood boil. He was doing this on purpose because he knew the effect well.. He then planted a feathery kiss on my neck, resting his forehead there.

My skin tingled at his touch. He shot me a victorious smirk and I gasped when he plucked the phone out of my grip swiftly and spoke into it, "Ananya! Can you please call later? your friend is quite busy right now."

Goosebumps erupted all over my body at his words.. My head snapped towards him, eyes wide and jaw dropping successfully to the ground.

I groaned under my breath as I heard a little chuckle, then beep and the line went off. Ya Allahh! She was definitely gonna tease the life out of me now!!

I glared at him past my shoulder and he grinned evilly, already taking two steps back. "Tit for tat, babe!" He winked and walked out, his hands stuffed into his pockets as he whistled a tone.

"Uughhh!!" I yelled, whining loudly only to hear his laugh echoing in the hall. I felt so angry and annoyed, but I couldn't even help the warmth creeping up my face.

I rolled my eyes before I walked out with a mug of steaming tea and settled far away from him.

He looked at me and stood up, taking long strides, he asked, his eyes glinting with mischief, "Am I not getting any tea?"

I rolled my eyes. "Get it for yourself if you want." I spoke confidently but shuddered when he sat to my right-too close.

He narrowed his eyes, leaning closer. I shifted more to my left, drawing the cup further away from him as I shook my head in warning.
