"I want you to tell me, Inaya. Tell me all of it... Let it all out. All those years of pent up emotions, those vulnerabilities, sorrows you hide beneath you. I want to hear all that from you today." I whispered, caressing her hair and her sobs became uncontrollable.

My heart pained as I saw her break down in my arms. Her body shook with the effect of her muffled cries, I could feel my shirt getting damp due to her tears.

Tears slipped down my eyes too and fell on her head, a screaming witness of the pain I felt when I saw my wife, crying in helpless agony. Her one tear would pierce through the very core of my existence and I couldn't put it into words about how it felt to see strings of those tears escape her eyes.

I kept my eyes closed, letting her cry till she wanted to. I didn't stop her, because I wanted her to let it go. I wanted her to let the past stay where it belonged and start anew with me.

When she fell silent after a while, I lifted her face, "Tell me everything that's in your heart, That is weighing you down. You trust me right?" I asked and she nodded her head meekly as she began expressing it all out.

Her voice was broken and fragile, tears never stopped and she stuttered every now and then. Her lips quivered everytime she spoke of a memory of her late mother.

This was much more difficult than I thought it would be, handling her when she cried while holding back my own tears. And assuring her amidst this was heart-wrenching. I held her close, knowing nothing else about what was to be done.

"You remember I told you I w-was stalked, when it stopped, I b-egan to hunt for the man who killed my mother, because I knew all too well that this was a planned murder... I have a friend, Ananya. She's helping me with this......" I hummed every now and then at every new piece of information I was receiving.

She then talked about the hospital in Pune and the reports she had been recently searching for. She told me everything about Mumma's journal and the information she received from that and the connections of the man in there with the hospital, Hamid Sheikh.

That he owned the hospital, he had once asked Inaya's hand in marriage for his son and was dead now, that she tried to get the information from the Mehtas but couldn't grab enough. The mysterious man, Hamid's son she mentioned, was what caught my attention.

She said, he's never been seen, never heard in real life, never been met in person by anyone. This was the description of the man that has been threatening me!

And I knew exactly what was happening..

"And you see now! How.. how I was the reason for everything t-that happened." She concluded, hiccuping slightly and I sighed, palming her face and making her look at me. Her eyes were swollen, nose was pretty red.

So tempting.

"Don't you think we should be focusing more on what this is leading to rather than blaming my wife?" I asked and she knitted her brows together, her cheeks turning to a shade of light crimson. "What do you mean?"
