A H A D

Fifteen days later,

Remind me to elope and rot in my penthouse before signing up for wedding preparations.

Tiring didn't even begin to explain.

"I clearly gave you the instructions to get it imported by tomorrow!" I said into the phone, more frustrated than I showed.

The man rushed over to explain, giving me some dumb reason as to why the peonies weren't being imported by tomorrow.

The wedding was in three days. And the previous ten days had been a hassle.

We had been less at home, and more at the shopping malls, jewelry stores, gift stores, and printing houses.

And apparently, everyone of the suppliers had decided to throw a tantrum.

Now I knew the decorators would do something similar, so I wanted the material ready by tomorrow. I huffed under my breath once the man was done giving useless excuses.

"Okay, not two days, I want them delivered by day-after-tomorrow. Or forget you'll get any more contracts from our side."

He murmured okay before we ended the call.

"You're too worked up," I heard Inaya from behind me.

Turning to see, I found her sitting on an armchair, an open water bottle clutched in her hand.

It felt like I hadn't seen her in days, and my exhaustion withered away at the mere sight of her, loosening something in my chest.

Walking over, I placed my hands on the arms of the chair, on either side of her before leaning closer.

"Where have you been since morning?" I asked, my tone harsher than intended.

It was currently five in the evening, and she had been out somewhere with Sasha and Zara. I looked down as she held my arm gently, in an attempt to calm me down.

"I went to buy some special gifts for Hafsa's parents and brother. Then they dragged me to the salon and I got my hair done."

I hummed, leaning down until our foreheads brushed to just breathe her in. I whispered, "I've barely seen you these days."

She sighed, huffing out a small chuckle. "I know right, I really need a moment with you."

Just as I'd begin to relax more, Ahmed called out from outside our room, followed by a firm knock. "Bhai?"

We gazed into each other's eyes for a brief moment before turning to look toward the closed door in unison. She let out a small chuckle and I added, "I need to go check the venue lightings."

"Wait downstairs, I'm coming," Ahad told Ahmed who hummed before we heard the fading footsteps.

Stealing a quick kiss from her, I smiled when she handed me the water bottle. "Keep sipping water."

"Yes, ma'am," I murmured before pulling away and walking over to get my car keys and wrist watch. Locking the clasp around my wrist, I looked up when she walked over.

I drew her closer by her waist smoothly. "I want you in the room before midnight."

She glared at me and I shrugged, adding, "And I don't care about any of your excuses."

Leaving her surprised, I walked out casually, smiling to myself. I stepped down the stairs, already praying for my ears when the chaos never seemed to subside.
