A/N- Hi, people. I hope you're all good and happy❤️
Just wanted to express something... It’s kinda sad how the response is decreasing day by day. Not for those who have been my loyal readers, I love you all, but the votes have been seemingly less recently.
It's not disappointing, because come on, nothing can stop me from writing except if ever Allah wills😂. But when you have readers, their response matters a lot. It makes me question if I've messed the plot up somewhere, or the book has just stopped pulling you in.
Like I always say, suggestions or constructive criticism is always encouraged, please do.
Anyway, maybe be I'm just being too emotional since the book is slowly entering it's last phase🫠💔
Enjoy😁💃

My foot kept tapping against the floor as I stared at the still, black screen.
Kaif had sent a new phone for me in the accessories bag last night. And now, I was waiting for his call regarding the video which was anonymously transferred to my system.
My gaze kept flicking to Ina who was still asleep on the bed. It was past eight in the morning, and she was sleeping after her morning checkup and some apple juice as breakfast.
The doctor said her condition was improving.
My restlessness was evident by the way I kept checking my phone. I saw if the network was low or if somehow I had put the phone on silent mode.
But none.
Just then, Kaif's name flashed on the screen. I silenced it immediately, glancing toward Inaya to see if the sound had disturbed her.
Receiving it, I asked, “What was it?”
He stayed quiet and that somehow only made me more anxious. Clearing his throat, Kaif’s voice was oddly unsettling when he said, “Ahad… I think it's better if you come here to check this out.”
I frowned instantly, and my grip tightened around the phone. Kaif would never ask me to come there while Inaya was here if it wasn't serious.
“Is it that serious?” I asked, my jaw clenching when he answered, “I don't know… it's weird, we don't know how to react.”
I hummed thoughtfully, then looked at inaya who was now awake, watching me with her brows drawn.
“I'll call you in a while,” I murmured.
“If you're coming, I'll send Zara and Asim there, and we will discuss in the meanwhile.”
“Okay.” I hung up, then stood and walked near the bed, smiling at Inaya.
She raised a brow, gesturing to the phone with her eyes. I swallowed, deciding to not lie to her as I said, “Something important came up, I'll have to be gone for around two hours, is that fine?”
She stared at me for a long moment, then just nodded. I let my fingers caress her jaw as I explained, “Kaif insists I go there and attend it myself, or you know I would never leave your side.”
Her lips twitched before it widened into a small smile. She held my hand back, nodding. “I know, Ahad, I trust you more than myself.”
My heart swelled at her words, and I leaned in, pressed a kiss to her forehead as I murmured, “Zara and Asim will be here with you.”
“Okay, also…” She trailed off before continuing, “Can you ask if they can give me stronger painkillers?”
I gulped, the lines on my forehead deepening in a frown as her implication was clear.
