I N A Y A
Breathtaking.
That was all I could say when my eyes landed on him, dressed in a black turtleneck shirt, a black leather jacket complementing it in ways that looked criminally good. I could see his side profile as he was busy adjusting the cloth over the table at the centre.
The fairy lights illuminated his face with a glow that felt almost unreal. The place was decorated but I was too consumed in him to tear my gaze away and focus on something else.
As if sensing my presence, he turned around and our eyes met, his eyes widened slightly while mine remained glued to him. He looked so....beautiful tonight. His eyes reflected the admiration in my own, the faint moonlight highlighting his figure. His front hair was slightly out of the place, falling on his forehead, doing no good to my poor heart.
He had a ring adorning his finger, our bracelets standing out. I took a step forward, holding my dress up as he walked to me slowly.
His gaze raked from my head to toe as a soft smile played on his lips. The air felt light with comfort, our eyes refusing to look away. I smiled, drinking in his beautiful form-That sharp jaw, brown eyes filled with so many emotions made my stomach do flips, butterflies taking flight.
He smirked and walked closer, snaking his arm around my waist loosely as he drew me closer, like the distance had been too much, before whispering in my ear huskily, "You've put all of my efforts in vain, Love."
I frowned at his words and that was when I looked around the place which was beautifully decorated. A round table, draped in soft ivory linen, sat beneath a delicate canopy of fairy lights strung between poles. The lights blinked gently, golden and warm. Two chairs faced each other, dark wood with plush white cushions, pulled just slightly back.
The path leading to the table, beneath us, was strewn with rose petals. They fluttered slightly in the breeze, catching the light in little blurs of crimson and pink.
Around the edges, more lights shimmered in quiet halos, soft enough not to steal the moment, but to hold it in a warm glow. A single candle burned at the center of the table, the flame flickering in rhythm with my heartbeat.
And above it all was the wide open sky. No ceiling, just stars, stretching forever.
I gasped. "It's so beautiful..what did I ruin?" I asked, confused by his previous words.
He pulled me closer, my cheeks turning warm as he whispered again, "Now that you're here, all of this looks ordinary." He said and I stared at him wide-eyed and then smiled, my gaze drifting down.
My hands traveled to his shoulders instinctively, while his palms rested on my waist. He smiled, gazing deeply into my eyes and then closed them, joining our foreheads. My palm reached up to caress his jaw as I whispered, "You make me feel so special, Ahad. It feels unreal to feel this, cared and cherished, knowing that I have you by my side always."
He smiled. "Because you are. And I'm definitely not going anywhere. Not now, not ever." We laughed softly in unison and stayed like that for a while before he pulled back and kissed my forehead.
"But still, you haven't told me how I'm looking yet!" I feigned anger, my lips forming a small pout as I turned my head away. He chuckled, the voice intoxicating.
