I N A Y A

Steam curled around me as I walked out of the shower, dressed in a bathrobe, a towel wrapped around my head.

Sunlight streamed in through the windows, the blue sea shining beneath. Looking around, I frowned when I didn't see Ahad anywhere.

“Ahad?” I called out, frowning when I was met with silence.

I walked into the living hall, removing the towel so my damp hair fell down my waist. “Ahad…” I called again, walking to the door to notice that his shoes weren't there.

“Where did he go…” I wondered out loud, changing into comfortable PJs since we were to leave for Athens soon. Traveling in PJs under the Abaya was comfort.

I did my skincare, then straightened the bed and changed the sheets. Just then, the main door opened and Ahad walked in, holding a bag of something in his hand.

I walked over immediately, asking, “Where were you?”

He brought out a small bouquet of roses from behind him, handing it over to me with a charming smile.

My eyes widened, a flutter dancing in my stomach as I took it from his hand, hugging him briefly, muttering a thank you.

He then lifted the bag up to show me. “Also, breakfast, I got this Oia special something.”

He removed his shoes and handed the bag over to me as we walked in together. I smiled at the slightly salty aroma of it, striding into the kitchen and plating them.

We then settled on the poolside, enjoying our meal peacefully. I recalled something and asked him, “What's the time?”

He looked up, replying, “Ten.”

“And were supposed to be in Athens before eleven?”

He hummed and I tilted my head, narrowing my eyes as I stated firmly, “And it takes two hours to reach there.”

“You slept till late,” he mumbled with a mouthful.

“Ahad…” I gasped, exasperated as I smacked his arm, “YOU turned off the alarm at eight.”

“Well…” he gave me a sheepish look, trying to distract me with a bite. I took it gladly, rolling my eyes before asking, “What now?”

“Relax, It's a technical halt which will need at least three hours. And I've booked a place for their stay in Athens, we have time till two to reach there before we leave.”

I huffed in relief, standing up with my empty plate. Stealing another bite from his, I said, “This was tasty.”

“You want more? We can take some on our way,” he suggested and I yelled back from inside, “Yes, let's get some for Kaif Bhai, Zara and Asim.”

I noticed our bags placed near the bed, all packed and ready. He had done it earlier when I was sleeping. I smiled, packing a small bag with the toiletries and basic stuff.

After around half an hour, we left for Athens. Ahad had bought the rolls from earlier, packing them in a heat-trap box so they remained fresh.

“Inu!” Zara exclaimed as soon as we came into view near the airport. I grinned, walking over as we shared a brief hug.

“Ahad, I missed you, man.” Kaif Bhai started, earning a full eye roll and scoff from Ahad who gave him a side hug. He then talked to Asim, asking if the journey till here was good.
