The moment I walked out of the closet, she ran and engulfed me into a hug immediately. My heart skipped a beat at her sudden action, but I composed myself quickly and hugged her back.

"I'm sorry". I apologised on behalf of my grandma and aunt.

"They shouldn't have spoken to you like that". I said, she looked up at me and I smiled.

But then, my eyes widened when she stood on her tip toes and placed a quick peck on my jaw mumbling a 'thank you'. My cheeks turned warm and I was blushing furiously before I even knew what had just happened.

I couldn't look into her eyes and stop the smile that stubbornly graced my lips. So, I looked anywhere but her trying hard to mantain my stoic façade.

"Hayyee!!". She exclaimed, smiling brightly and giggled out loud, her wide eyes scanning my entire face. It just intensified the blush!

I wanted to move away but she was still holding me close, I've never felt like this before!!! What's happening exactly?

"Are you done?" I asked, trying extremely hard to replace the blush with a boring expression. She narrowed her eyes at me, suppressing a smile.

"Accha jiii! But I just saw you blush". She teased again, wrapping her arms around my neck and interlocking her fingers behind it, smirking.

Ya Allah! She won't let it slip now.

"No". I feigned strictness, while my insides were already melting helplessly.

"But you didd" she smiled and giggled more.

I leaned closer "Shouldn't I?", my eyes meeting hers in a fierce battle of emotions. Neither did she back off nor did I. We kept on staring into each other's eyes as time didn't exist. The only voice audible around was the ticking of clock and our thudding heartbeats.

"If saying sorry gets me a kiss, I can say it every next second". I teased and her eyes widened. She looked down quickly, moving slightly to pull back from my hold. And here we go! I chuckled knowing too well how flustered she gets and the confidence leaves her as soon as I begin retorting back..

"Why Lioness? Won't you?" I asked again, clearly enjoying her state as she tried hard to stop the smile that tugged at her lips.

"Hmm?" I whispered again leaning more closer, her hold behind my neck tightened as she closed her eyes.

"L-leave me". She spoke finally.

"Neither in this life, Nor in the next one". I said sternly, my words rooting down to a much deeper perspective.

"Dumbo!" She glared at me, feigning anger while I knew very well what was going on within her.

I laughed loudly pushing my head back as I could no longer stop it at the face she made. Her cheeks were already red, lips formed a pout and her nose was also a little red.

"You keep on laughing. I'll go". She scolded and tried to get away only for me to tighten my hold on her more as I pulled her back into my arms.

"Try once more and..." I trailed off, letting her assume the consequence.

"And what?" She asked, narrowing her eyes in challenge!
