I N A Y A

"Moin!! Baby! Look here!" I called out to Moin who was blabbering something while tucked in Saad's left arm as I held the phone up to click a picture.

Kinza was on his right side, busy playing with his silver neck chain.

Abbas walked in from behind me, his hair slightly damp and that was when both of them looked up and I snapped a picture. Saad and I shared a grin before Kinza struggled and whined, wanting to go to Abbas.

"What're you all doing in the kitchen this early?" He asked us, rubbing his still sleepy eyes as he filled a glass of water for himself.

"We were helping Mami with cooking breakfast! right, Saad?" I chirped and we laughed out together before giving a high-five. Bhabhi also chuckled as she spoke, "Yeah! They're a great help!"

Moin sat on the table, facing me as he smiled, showing a few teeth he had grown recently. I raised a brow, pulling him in my lap before ruffling his hair wildly.

"Where's Jiju?" Abbas asked, taking a seat across from me as he helped Kinza sip water slowly.

"Shower!" I muttered, popping a cashew in my mouth casually.

The air around us buzzed with excitement. The joy of togetherness, combined family and shared moments warmed my heart.

I couldn't help but sneak glances towards the door, waiting for Ahad to join us. He had slept till late today because he had been busy all day yesterday. Having handled a few last moment meetings, he had left early.

And I was myself surprised when I could hear the faint padding of his footsteps amidst this chaos. He appeared, smiling at something Hiba had said from beside him. He was dressed casually in a white tee and brown pants.

Hiba settled beside Abbas after we exchanged a smile and Ahad walked to me. He pulled out a chair and sat beside me, increasing my heart rate as his scent invaded and messed with my senses effortlessly.

I avoided his gaze, acting indulged with Moin as I played with his hair and little fingers. All this while, I could feel his gaze boring into my side, eliciting goosebumps.

"Arey Inu, itna kya sharmana?" Saad teased, leaning in with that smirk on his face.
(Oh Inu, why're you so shy?)

I glared at him, gesturing to him to shut up. I could almost see the wicked smirk on Ahad's face from beside me.

Is it that obvious?

Then I helped Bhabhi serve breakfast. Mamu and daniyal Bhai joined us a little later. The breakfast continued, light chatter and smiles illuminating the place.

After we were done with it, we settled in the hall, deciding to watch Daniyal Bhai's wedding video cassette.

I was between Ahad and Hiba on a couch, Abbas on the floor in front of us. Saad, Mami and Bhabhi were on the other one. Moin and Kinza were busy playing with their building blocks and clay.

It played and I went on telling Ahad about every person I knew in the video cassette. Mumma's cousins, their children and a few more of my cousins. He just hummed along, listening only after giving me a warning that he'd eventually forget it all and was just listening because he wanted to hear me.

I didn't know if that was supposed to be romantic, but I blushed anyhow.

I seemed to blush when this man just did as much as breathing.

"See! that's me!!" I whisper-squealed in his ear and he chuckled, his gaze remaining fixed on it. I could see the reflection in his eyes, enhancing the beauty with an allure of their own.
