I N A Y A
After having the sandwiches he-basically, I made. We decided to take some rest before we leave to actually explore the place.
I huffed, plopping on the bed. My cramps were gone now, but there was this fading and consistent ache in the back of my head and beneath my eyes. A gnawing pain-neither am I able to figure it out, nor push it away!
My chain of thoughts was disrupted as he entered the room and that is when it hit me-this room did not have a couch!
Should I ask him about staying in separate rooms?
"You idiot!" My subconscious smacked me internally. That would sound so awkward, and if I sleep alone, there are high chances I'd land into a nightmare again.
"I'm leaving for Zuhr prayers", he said, grabbing the car keys.
Keeping my head still stuffed into the pillows, I mumbled, "Take the keys with you, I won't be opening the door as I'm sleeping". He hummed and left.
I just stared outside through the huge glass walls, watching the peaceful landscape before my eyes began drooping again and I fell asleep.

My breaths were heavy, heart beating like crazy when I sat up abruptly from my sleep. My eyes widened as I gasped to gulp in more air.
Another nightmare.
This was just getting too much to handle now! I groaned, fisting my hair tightly as tears threatened to escape. I shut my eyes close, trying to focus on anything but that.
Blood. Accident. Scars.
It didn't seem to leave me.
Taking a few heavy breaths, when I finally felt like I was a little better, I turned my head around only to witness Ahad sleeping beside me. My lips broke into a tiny smile as I took in his peaceful sleeping form.
One of his arms was placed over his forehead, covering his eyes. While the other was around his torso. His chest heaved steadily, a witness of the life within him.
It was turning colder now. I leaned in and tucked the comforter around him carefully. He muttered something incoherently in sleep before pulling the duvet closer and turning to the other side.
I chuckled softly, I looked at the clock and realised it was already past 3 PM!
I decided to freshen up and just look through the reports Anu had forwarded to me until he wakes up. It was time for Asr prayer when I woke him up and he left for masjid.

"Inaya". He called out from the living hall. I shut my laptop and yelled from the lounge, "YESS". He walked inside as he settled beside me.
He thought for a while and asked, "Where do you wanna go?" His eyes gleaming with an odd excitement, like this was something he really wanted.
Like I wasn't just a formality or a responsibility.
I smiled and sighed, "I don't know exactly! Anywhere interesting?". I asked and he thought for a while before checking something in his phone.
After a few minutes of silence, he spoke up, "As it's already evening, Let's just go strolling near the Beas river". He suggested and I grinned happily. After all, river Beas is said to have a beautiful sunset point!
