The screen of the TV in front of us blinked as the headlights flashed one by one.

The lady spoke in the microphone,

“THE INDUSTRY SHUTDOWN.
Done with such precision. Who is behind the fall of the Raza firm? As we see, every industry is collapsing slowly and the doer remains in the shadows.

Mr. Hassan Raza, son of Luqman Raza hasn't appeared or given any official confirmation as to why and how this is happening. To know more, keep watching the world news.

Now coming back to—”

I switched to another news channel where it said the same thing. The news of Hassan’s downfall was everywhere, still spreading like a wildfire.

Ahad lay on his stomach on the bed, and I was sitting beside him, massaging his back with warm oil which was cramping due to hours long of work.

He had his eyes closed, smiling every time I pressed the right muscle. His back was stiff, declaring the amount of enormous work he was putting into this.

“I'm glad you handled it well, Mr. Husband.” I said with a soft smile, dipping my fingers into the warm oil again as I continued with the task.

He hummed sleepily. “I told you I'd handle it.”

“Yes, but it's enough. We'll get to the final step now.”

He frowned, peeking one eye open as he smirked at me. “So easily?”

I glared, tilting my head as I spoke, “Let's not forget the purpose behind this.”

He moved so he was resting his head on my lap now. “I know, I haven't forgotten. But he has to be unarmed enough to not be able to fight the law.”

I huffed, now massaging his hair as I replied, “The law is supposed to be strong enough.”

“But they're all bought. That's the truth right?” He mumbled, tracing patterns absent-mindedly on my free palm before pressing a kiss there.

Today was the seventh fast of Ramadan. And past days had been beyond hectic. This was the first time in the last Fifteen days when he was actually home after the taraveeh prayers.

(Taraveeh are the eight to twenty units of optional prayers done every night of Ramadan)

Every day, we'd fast, leave for work. He'd get back to work immediately after completing the fast, returning only when I was either sleeping or too drowsy to talk.

Someone or the other from the brothers kept me updated about the situation as I navigated with them.

“Also…” I started.

“Hmm?”

“You didn't do the taraveeh tonight, right?” I asked, tugging at his hair angrily. He hissed before a low chuckle vibrated against my stomach as he exclaimed, “Leave my hair!”

I tugged harder. “I told you to come.”

“Ouch! I had a meeting.” He grumbled, prying my hand away as I refused to pull it back. Leaning down, I bit his ear harshly, laughing when he groaned in pain.

Zaalimah!” He mumbled, rubbing his now red ear but never pulling away from me.
(Tormentor!)

Zaalimah? Really?” I gritted out, leaning down to bite again before I was tackled down to the bed. He hovered above, hair falling on his forehead as a smirk danced on his lips.
