I N A Y A

"Why can't you come Inuu?" Zara whined like a kid insisting for the 5th time for me to join her this evening. But I've just comitted to Ahad that I'll go for a coffee with him.

It's definitely not like I'm wanting to or something like that, but a commitment is a commitment you know!

"I've got plans Zee. Understand". My tone holding unerring authority. She pouted and sat on a couch folding her arms on her front.

"We've been so busy lately, we barely get time. But you're always like this". Her tone laced with complain.

"Ahad wants to take me out". I said looking through some files and through my peripheral sight, I could see her smirking.

"Oohhh! So you should've told me that you're going on a date today, I simply wasted my energy". She teased and I facepalmed.

"It's not a date, just coffee". I spoke boringly not diverting my gaze from the paperworks.

"Yes madam! In the human world, we call it a coffee date". She got up and walked towards me. I just hummed not wanting to involve in any more further details.

We discussed business for a while and she left.

The day passed by as usual, with me handling some projects, leading a few meetings and all.

It was close to 3 pm, I sat all tired on my chair. Leaning my head back and pressing my forehead with my fingers as I was really exhausted. I haven't even had my lunch, Zara is also caught up in much work recently. Just then my phone began ringing.

Anu.

"Hey!" I exclaimed, a smile making its way to my lips instinctively.

"Meet me at my place". With that she hung up. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as the call had already ended. I sighed. I was tired, but the information she'd provide is also essential.

I groaned and left for her place and reached after a good drive of 20 minutes.

Well, her place refers to her secret base.

I entered coughing, as this place is always a little dusty doubting about any human residence.

"What's the rush?" I maintained a smile and entered. She quickly looked towards me, her black orbs empty unusually.

"You need to see this". With that she turned her laptop towards me and the information was enough to snatch the Earth beneath my feet. My eyes widened as I gripped its sides with complete pressure.

"T-this can't.. be". I could'nt just believe what I had seen with my own two eyes and now. Finally. My doubt was confirmed.

"Unfortunately. This is the truth". Her head hung low as if she's sorry for the information that was uncovered, clear to our eyes now.

"I need these printouts". I growled lowly, "Every. Freaking. Detail". My vocie filled with rage. She proceeded with it while I stared at the screen trying to take in the apprehensive truth. Even though I doubted it, I always wanted it to turn out to be false. This was the first time, I wanted proofs to prove me wrong! But they proved me right.
