A H A D

I handed the car keys to the valet as I walked inside the executive suite. This silence was exactly what I desperately needed after three straight hours of listening to speeches and talking to people I was least interested in.

The door clicked shut behind me, the tap of my boots echoing in the place. The faint scent of candles filled the room seamlessly, providing a sense of relief I had been craving all along.

My lips curved into a soft smile as I shrugged the bag off, barely recognizing the thud when it hit the floor as I walked in further.

The shower was relaxing, warm water calming my nerves and shedding away the remnants of tiredness. Putting on a baggy black tee, I paired it with grey sweatpants before calling for room service.

I dialled Inaya, smiling as her voice reached my ears.

It was concerning how addicted I was to her. And I was missing her would be an understatement.

"When are you coming back?" She asked amidst the talk and I chuckled, facepalming as I replied, "I've just reached today, Ina!"

She whined slowly before it melted into laughter. "Did you eat something?" She asked and my gaze drifted to the closed door as I answered, "No! The room service will be here soon. You?"

"Yeah! Just had it.."

We talked for a while longer. She told me about everything she did today and I complained how tiresome it was. Conferences like these weren't new to me, but this was the first time I had someone to complain to about it.

I had been telling her something when the doorbell rang. "Wait! I'll take the food." I said, opening the door as I accepted the order.

"Okay then! Have your dinner and sleep okay? You even have some work tomorrow right?"

I hummed, settling across the table and uncovering the food as I said, "Yeah! I'm meeting a client tomorrow, you're busy?"

"Yeah! I'm confirming the deal with Hassan! I'll have to leave early and then I'll be with Zara all day..." She explained and I pursed my lips together, calculating everything on my list.

"Have you thought clearly about the deal?" I asked, something uneasy settling within me at the thought of it.

"Yes! I'll give you the details when you'll return.."

We talked for a while longer, wishing Goodnight before hanging up.

Goodnight my foot!!

I knew I couldn't sleep.

I didn't remember how long I had been tossing and turning around in bed. Everything was perfect. The lighting, bed, temperature, silence.

Everything except for her.

I ran a hand through my hair, utterly agitated. She had ruined me for real.

I laid on my stomach, grabbing my phone from the bedside table as I unlocked it.

Swiping through the images, I watched them all for the fifth time tonight, zooming in as I gazed at her eyes, smiling, beautiful lips. Few were ours, together in Manali. And a few of hers I had taken without her knowledge.

I contemplated for a while before finally losing to my heart as I texted her.

-Slept?

The three dots danced after a few seconds, my grin turning wide as she replied.

-Working! You?
