Hunters POV:
I wake up and see Noah still asleep, but Alex gone. Something in my gut is telling me somethings wrong, and then I hear it. A soft thud, one after another. I squeeze my eyes shut and sigh, before getting up to go see Alex. I open his door as a book flies past my head. "Alex..." I say gently hoping to not startle him. His head whips towards me. "I-I can't—you have to keep Noah away from me today, he can't see me like this!" He says frantically. He's breathing heavily, and shaking, and things have been thrown around his room, papers, clothes, books, everything. "I'm sorry! I couldn't stop!" He apologizes, looking at the mess he made.
"It's okay, we can clean up, it's just things." I say still keeping a distance, not because I think he'd hurt me, but to give him space. "I hate being like this! My walls are padded in case I start acting like a fucking nutcase who needs a straitjacket!" He says, throwing a pillow at the wall. "Alex, take a breath. Tell me what you need." I say calmly making him look back at me and focus. "I can't go to school like this." He says, squeezing his eyes shut. "I'll get Nick to make some extra bacon and eggs for you, go take a cold shower to cool off. You can stay up here until everyone else leaves for school, or you can head down to the basement early alright?" I say, knowing he's gonna need the extra food today. "I'll stay up here." He mumbles, sitting down on his bed.
I head down and find Liam in the kitchen with Nick. "Morning." Li says to me, passing me my cup of coffee. "Alex is having a day." I say. "Extra bacon and eggs then?" Nick asks and I nod. "A day?" Liam asks. "He's gotten really good at managing his anger, and keeping it at bay, but sometimes he still has days where he just needs to reset. Today's one of those days." I say. "That was him I heard scuffling around earlier then? It didn't sound that loud." He asks and I nod. "We renovated his room so the walls are padded, he absolutely hated it, but it was either that, or fixing holes in the walls every time he punched it." I explain.
The boys and Bellamy eventually come down for breakfast, Atlas still upstairs sick. Noah wants to make sure Atlas gets breakfast so I let him bring something up with me for him. On the way back down we hear Alex, and Noah questions it. "Lex? Why Lex n-no eat? Like yummy breakfast, always t-take Spencer bacon when not looking!" He asks. "Alex is having a bit of a bad day today." I say, making him frown. "Sick? L-like Atty?" He asks. "No, not sick. Sometimes Alex has days, where he can't control his feelings, specifically anger. And so on those days, we just have to give him some space and time to control them again. But remember he's not angry at you, or anyone, he's just, angry." I explain in the most kid friendly way I could. Noah nods and rushes into his own room.
"Noah buddy, we gotta go downstairs, we've got to get you to school." I say. "Coming! H-have to give Lex something!" He calls back. Maybe he hear the time and space part. "Noah, we're gonna let Alex have some space today, so we're gonna leave him by himself." I say but he's already running back to Alex's door. He sets some stuff down, and knocks on the door, and then comes back to me. "Okay! R-ready now!" He says pulling me downstairs. I hear Alex's door open, and then shut again.
"No offence, but is this gonna be a regular thing? Because it's bad enough that we get driven to school by an English teacher, a gym teacher, and a cop, but now the principal too?" I hear Spencer complaining. "Seriously Hunter? The first friend you have had to be our principal?" Spencer says as he sees me, making me roll my eyes. "First of all, I have tons of friends, and second, be grateful you get a ride to school, otherwise you'd be walking to and from." I say, while Noah stands beside me, hands on his hips, nodding, like my little sidekick. "Come on, let's go, everyone in the car, I don't care whose car you get in, but pick either mine, Liam, or Bellamy's." I say. "Don't worry about Luna, Alex and I will take care of her." Nick calls out as we all shuffle out of the house.
Alexander's POV:
I wake up feeling agitated, and try to shake it off. But the feeling just keeps getting stronger and stronger, so I get out of Hunters bed and go to my room. I pace around a bit, trying to do the stupid breathing exercises, but they're not working. "Come on snap out of it!" I say to myself, but I throw the first thing I see, an eraser. I don't stop there though. I swipe the papers off my desk, and toss the blankets off my bed. I can't stop. All I feel is anger coursing through me. I keep throwing things, anything I can get my hands on. I hit the wall, and feel the stupid padding, and feel even angrier at that. My room is basically an asylum and I'm a fucking lunatic who can't control himself. I whip around, hearing Hunters voice, and try to explain myself.
