Chapter 101

Spencer's POV:

"Come on you love magic shows! It's gonna be so fun." Reid pleads with me, pulling me to sit on the grass with the other kids. He's right, I do love this shit. "You think Noah's gonna like it too?" He asks, and I look at Noah, who's sitting in front of me listening to Alex. "He seems excited, but does he even know what a magician is?" I say quietly. "Don't be mean!" Reid scolds me. "I literally wasn't even being mean, I'm deadass serious I don't think he knows what a magician is. I'm pretty sure it's never come up." I say. "Theo's probably told him all about it by now, plus Alex." Jesse says pointing at Alex explaining to Noah.

I look down at my phone while we wait for the show to start, and everything feels like it's happening in slow motion. "Is that..." Reid whispers to Jesse. "A mime..." Jesse finishes his sentence and I swear my I feel my neck break from looking up so fast. "Oh fuck no." I say, as kids start screaming, including Noah. I scramble up and yank him with me, Reid's on his own for this one because this not fucking fun in any way.

Noah gets the idea and takes off for Hunter, and I set my sights on Nick. This motherfucker wouldn't even try to get past Nick, he's like a brick wall. "Spence, it's fine, he's not coming here." Nick says as I reach him. "He's not following me right? Right!?" I say panicked. "No he's not." He says but I see his eye fucking twitch. "Nick..." I say taking a breath because I can feel someone behind me.

"Is he... Nick I'm gonna punch him, I swear to god I'm gonna punch him if he doesn't get away from me right now!" I say because I just know this fucking clown is behind me. "Yeah, okay, can you not." Nick says but he's looking behind me. I feel like I can't move or breathe, oh god is this what Reid feels like when he has a panic attack? Am I having a panic attack? "Dude back off, you clearly see we're not interested in whatever you're doing." I hear Nick say, he's also behind me now. "No I don't want to play either!" He says irritatedly. Oh my god he's terrorizing him now.

"Alex, punch him! I can't do it!" I say when he stands in front of me with wide eyes. "What!? What's happening?" I ask, seeing his eyes moving back and forth. "Uhh, it's breaking up with Nick?" He says. "What the fuck does that even mean!" I ask frantically. "Um, is the mime breaking up with your brother?" Jesse asks us when he and Reid join us. "Are you okay? I swear they said no clowns! She said it was gonna be a magician!" Reid says, checking on me. "Don't touch me!" I say swatting Reid's hands away from me, making him frown. "Sorry." He whispers, stepping back, but I grab his arm, pulling him back towards me.

"Spencer, don't freak out, but he's coming back." Sebastian says. "Saying don't freak out doesn't make me just not freak out!" I tell him, gripping Reid's arm. "He's just crying, he's not doing anything else." Reid whispers to me. Good, he should be fucking crying with his stupid miming face. "I-i think he's leaving!" He says. Thank god.

Nick clamps his hand on my shoulder, but I'm ready to fucking go. Hunter finally comes to the rescue, and says the mime is gone for sure, I feel like I can breathe again. I fucking hate birthday parties.

Since there was no actual magician, we get to watch Nick make balloon animals and Alex shows off his card skills. Noah looks at him like he's a fucking wizard, I swear his eyes couldn't get any wider. I spend the next little while texting Cara details about tonight, until it's time for cake.

I guess Hunter overdid the "don't play with fire" talk because Noah looks ready to bolt when the candles are lit. He frantically looks around, and somehow catches my eyes first. "Don't. Move." I mouth to him so sternly I feel like Hunter. I give him a look that makes him freeze, and sit up straight. He looks so confused, and I try not to laugh, but he keeps making eye contact with me, as if Seb isn't literally right beside me, so I just try to show him what to do, blow out the candles.

After cake, Alex, Seb, and I watch Reid, Aaron and Jesse watch Theo and Noah to see who can bounce higher in the bouncy castle. "You guys can head out soon." Hunter says giving Alex the keys. "Bellamy is gonna be here soon, and he'll drive with you. Nick and I are gonna stay here a bit with Noah, Seb and Aaron and then go home. And Jesse I spoke with your aunt and you're welcome to join them at the movies if you'd like." Hunter explains.

"Why does he get to drive?" I say crossing my arms. "Do you even care? You don't even like to drive." Hunter says, giving me a look. "Nah I'm just fucking with you. Is Bellamy staying there the whole time or..." I ask. "No he's just gonna walk home after you guys drive him there for no reason." He says sarcastically. I roll my eyes because all he had to say was yes.

Alexander's POV:

"Drive safely okay? B's gonna be right beside you, if you need to pull over, do it." Hunter says quietly to me as we all walk to the car. "Yeah." I breathe out, shaking off my nerves. I can do this, it's only a short drive from here to the theatre. "He can also drive if you're not feeling up to it." He says, but I shake my head. "I'm good, I promise." I say. "What I'm not ready for is the dumb romance movie we're going to see." I complain, but he just laughs at my misery. "It's not even a rom com, it's just straight romance! I can't believe Spencer told the girls to pick the movie!" I groan.

"You'll be fine, it's only 2 hours long right?" He says with a stupid smile. "If he doesn't at least make out with this girl tonight, I'm seriously going to practice boxing with his face." I say. "And are you planning on at least making out with anyone tonight?" He teasingly asks. "Bye." I say walking faster away from him. He's such a dad.

"Hey, wait up!" He calls out, catching up to me. "Keep an eye on Spence and Reid alright?" He says. "You mean keep an eye on Reid because Spencer's gonna be too busy with his eyes on someone else?" I say, rolling my eyes, but smiling. "Will you just do it? Please?" He says. "Yeah yeah, whatever, as long as you aren't gonna make Bellamy watch me. You're basically putting me in charge so I don't need to be watched right?" I ask, and this time he rolls his eyes.

"Ouch. I'm hurt, you think I'd go to the movies just to spy on you?" Bellamy's irritating voice sounds behind me. "Oh don't give me that look, I know you love me, but sadly no, I will be seeing my own movie, with my own friends." Bellamy says. "But I'll still check in with you alright?" He says more seriously now, and I nod. "You two should probably go give Spencer the talk now. I say shoving them both away from me.

Back again with my apologies lmao sorry again for taking so long, I tried to get the chapter done before my birthday but then that didn't happen and days were going by so quick and now it's mid March and it feels like the year just started and time doesn't feel real. Next chapter is gonna be another filler chapter, so probably a short one, just of the boys at the movies, and then we get back to Noah lol
