Drag Me Down- One Direction

I sit in my office in the Pire, swiping through reports and codes on my screen that I was given. I scribble down some notes as I read a letter to the leader about the music that's played in the pit.

This Blaze Wells- well, he really hates it and thinks that we need more vintage rap and hip hop remixes.

I hear a knock on my door and I look up. "Come in." I say, looking at the clock on the wall. It's almost time for the day to be over.

"Hello, Maddie." I shut my eyes, knowing immediately who it is. I look back up from my binder of work, and there stands my father. I sigh.

"Yes?" I ask, closing my binder and placing it on the shelf behind me, clearing my desk fully.

I look off to the side of my office, through the glass door that leads into Uriah's office, and see him scribbling things down on paper while reading. I should be doing that, not listening to what is probably my father's complaints.

He sits down in one of the chairs in front of my desk. I restate my question. "I have two topics to talk about." He says, and I throw back my head in defeat.

"Okay, hurry up. I've got to go home to Ty in fifteen minutes." I say. He frowns, his whole demeanor changing from proud and happy to sulking sadness.

"Actually that's one of the things I wanted to talk to you about. I passed by your apartment again the other day, you know, after I left-" he starts.

"Stalker." I shake my head, leaning back in my chair.

"I heard you moaning when I passed by your house!" He hisses, pointing at me. "Yeah, so?" I ask. My cheeks warm. "Look, it already has happened at least once if Hannah is here. Okay?" I finish.

"I just don't like it. You're growing up too fast." He cries. I scoff. "I'm growing up too fast? How about you and mom- married at sixteen and eighteen. Kids at the same age too." He's silent.

"I arrest my case." I sigh, picking up the phone and dialing the number to the tattoo parlor. Tori picks up on the third ring. "Hello?" She asks.

"Yeah, hey Tori, it's Maddie. Can I speak to Ty?" I ask. "Sure," she replies and screams for Ty.

It's silent on the other end for a minute until Ty picks up. "Hey Maddie." He says. I just want to kiss him through the phone while listening to his voice.

"Hi Ty. I'm taking care of some business and I'll probably be home late. Do you think you could pick up Hannah?" I ask him, leaning the phone in between my neck and shoulder and shuffling a deck of old playing cards in my hand.

"Yeah. She's at your parents' house with Alex, right?" He asks. "Yes. I love you." I say.

"Alright I'll pick her up as soon as I get off, which is in about ten minutes. I love you too. Bye." He says, and a grin spreads across my face as I can hear the smile on his face on the other end. "Bye." I say.

I put down the phone and look at my father. "Yes?" I ask. He stares at me, his eyes bulging.

"Olivia is staying at our house for the time being. She's on house lockdown." He looks down at the table.
