The sound of skin hitting tough fabric echoes throughout the dusty training room. Initiates haven't dared to talk, only murmuring every now and then.

Apparently when Krystale was taken last night, they took her from the dormitory while they were sleeping. She fought the guards. They had to inject her in the back to put her to sleep.

I think now, every initiate knows how tough Dauntless is; they can't just play around... this is real.

The knife throwing went horribly yesterday, so we're going to try again today. It's almost lunchtime. Trey has been doing surprisingly well in fighting, using his knees for leverage.

Adam has been struggling a bit, so Hunter told him to use his elbows and knees. A skill my father taught us all.

"Alright," I walk past the initiates, who punch the dust covered bags. "You guys have done great today, so we're going to give you an extra twenty minutes on your lunch!" I clap my hands together.

They all chant. Jerry looks at Adam shyly, and Adam just laughs.

Adam's light blonde hair is styled into a sort of Mohawk, his big, brown eyes stare at everyone with a sense of the ability to conquer anything the world throws his way.

He's tall and muscular, wearing tight black clothes to show it off.

The initiates all race out the door, toward the Dining Hall, or wherever they're going to get lunch.

I promised myself that I would go get Ty something to eat today. I'm going to get two personal pizzas from the 'Down Under' bar, and take them to him.

Once I tell Hunter I'm leaving, I race down to the Pit, which is crawling with initiates, who wear their jackets that were provided for them.

I pass them, and try to find the hole with the neon sign. I see an arrow pointing down, and I know that's it. They have Trivia Night on Saturdays; sometimes Ty and I may come down to play.

I step carefully down the stairs, and walk up to the counter. "How may I help you?" The bartender says, annoyed. I look up, and it's none other than Cameron himself.

I remember how he had a thing for me in initiation; I always didn't really like him.

"Two personal deep-dish pizzas, and two large Dauntless Sodas," I say, looking at my nails and picking my cuticles.

"That'll be ten Dauntless Credits." He practically gags. Wonder where that Abnegation born hospitality went.

I pay him, and he hands me my food. I check it to make sure the order's right, and I walk off. I look back in his direction and say, "Thanks Stiff," in a rough voice.

I pull my black trainer's jacket on, and head for the tattoo parlor. Ty said its been pretty slow the past couple of days.

I hope we don't have to worry about any freak initiates today. I walk quickly up the paths of the pit walls, only stopping for others to pass; I'm nice like that.

I see the glowing sign, and walk inside. Ty stands at the cash register, writing something down. "What'll it be?"

I don't guess he knows it's me, so I try to say as seductively as I can, "I don't know, maybe a little love, because you're more handsome than any man I've ever laid eyes on."

He freezes, saying, "I have a wife, ma'am," but then he looks up. "Maddie!" He says. "Glad to know you can stand up for your marriage." I say sarcastically.
