Ty

I'm standing in the white walled lab once again, the wires attached to my still body. Suddenly, a group of people walk in. The one who leads the pack is Maddie. She holds her gun at the ready, then races over to me.

She hugs me as the sound of gunfire fills the room. I hold her close to me, then lay our foreheads together.

"Ty." She whispers, and I quickly kiss her soft lips.

"Maddie." I say to her, and she kisses me in return. She bites her lip as she smiles, and suddenly, her face pales. She doesn't move, and her body feels heavy.

No, this can't be happening to me.

Tears stream out of my eyes as I look over her shoulder and see blood seeping through her shirt, in the middle of her back.

"No!" I cry out to anyone who's listening as gunfire rings through the air, "STOP! NO!" I shout as I hold Maddie's body close to me, kissing her pale white forehead as she lays against my body limply.

Smoke fills the room, and I try to escape, I try to run, but I can't. I'm still attached to the wires that hold me in place. I feel a wetness on my hand and I know that it's Maddie's blood. I cry, the salty tears making their way down my dry cheeks as Four runs into the lab.

I bury my face in Maddie's neck, unable to face him. He's probably going to tell me that I'm the reason for Maddie's death, that I'm the reason that her blood now stains the pristine white tile floors, that I'm the reason, that I'm horrible.

I hold my hand over the wound in her back as if it's going to do something. It doesn't, and I cry even harder. "Maddie." He says as he covers his mouth, looking down at her as her body is still near mine, her arm still slung around my back.

I would've rather had that bullet go through me than her. Maddie had a life to live, well we both did, but Maddie is still younger than me. Hannah and Dylan can't survive without their mother, especially since Dylan is so young.

I only cry even harder, holding Maddie to my chest as Four stares at us in disbelief. "Please." I choke out as I look at Four, "Pull the wires out." I say, and he nods, walking around to my back to pull the first one out.

When he does, hot waves of pain sizzle through my back, causing me to groan as I continue to cry. He then pulls both of the ones in my legs out at the same time.

It's pain on a whole new level. It feels like I'm paralyzed, but I can still move my body perfectly fine.

Soon, all of the wires are out of my body, dangling from the ceiling like snakes, like predators ready for their next prey.

"What's happening?" I ask Four. He shrugs.

"I don't really know. Just a lot of gunfire. I don't want to do this, but I have one more round left." He says as I hold Maddie under her arms against my body. He shakes his head as he looks down at the gun, then clicks the bullet into the chamber and extends his arm.

The barrel of the gun is pressed to my forehead, directly in the center.

"No." My voice is hoarse from yelling and crying, screaming for Maddie to still be alive, but she isn't. "No, Please!" I say, but he only smirks.
