Wild Ones- Flo Rida

The sun is just pressing past the peaks of the city buildings when I wake.

The dark red room makes me feel captivated, the white sheets and blankets make me feel free, like I'm flying away with the sun or the birds that chase each other around in the sky.

Ty lays beside me, his back facing me. I close my eyes once again, indulging this moment, taking it in. It's a peaceful setting, the sun rising and Ty sleeping beside me.

I glance over at the clock, somewhat surprised that it's already seven twenty-six. I focus my eyes back on Ty, whose body moves evenly with each steady breath he takes.

"We're different- that's what makes us fit together so well." I whisper to his sleeping body- the same words he told me on his birthday.

I sit up, my black tee-shirt pulling at my skin. I run a hand through my hair, and a thought comes to my mind.

Today is the choosing ceremony.

I gasp audibly. I'm a leader- I'm supposed to be at the Hub at eight-thirty. I close my eyes tightly. I've got one hour. Alex will be choosing today- I will be giving part of the speech and calling some of the names.

I throw the covers from my body, and rush to the bathroom to get ready, my thoughts rushing in a million different directions.

I pull on my black pants, and a tight, black, three quarter sleeve v-neck shirt.

I also pull on my combat boots, and my old trainer's jacket. I leave my hair down- it's fluffy, and I apply my makeup.

I brush my teeth after I finish my smoothie, and walk back into the bedroom.

Ty lays in the bed, staring up at the ceiling. "Honey, you're gonna have to watch Hannah- I've got about ten minutes until I have to leave." I say, looking down at my watch.

He nods his head against the pillow. "Okay." He smiles at me. I smile back, and walk over to the window from my spot in the doorway.

I stare out of the smudge free glass at the city; the trains run in circles around the city- some on the edge, others in the inner parts of the city.

The buildings shimmer in the bright sunlight and clear skies- the Hub's prongs glowing as well. I smile. I feel free when I look outside.

Our house is up on a higher level, in one of the Pire-Pit apartments, so everything is much lower than us.

As I feel like I'm flying away, I am pulled back down to earth and reality when Ty comes over and runs his hands down my arms.

I turn around to him, and lay my head on his bare chest. He rests his chin on my head, and sighs.

I take a long, drawn out breath, and then heave a heavy sigh. "What's wrong, Maddie?" Ty asks me, pulling away to look at me.

I sigh again before speaking. "I've got so much stuff that I'm about to have to do for work, and I feel like we're not going to have any time together with Hannah and everything and-" I begin to ramble, but Ty only wraps his arms around me even tighter, his mouth somehow finding mine.
